Reminds me. As soon as my RockAuto order arrives I am installing both pressure and temperature gauges in the AW4 pressure line on my 96. It's been leaking for a while and I am replacing/rerouting the lines, it has run dry a few times due to me forgetting. I figure having some more gauges will let me know before it's too late next time.

87 was the first year for GM TBI.

Hopefully he noticed the oil pressure dropping before lockup. Many a 6.2/6.5/7.4/4.3 have been killed from the crappy GM oil cooler lines.

I have seen these quick coupler cooler lines cause many engine failures. Rest assured, if he didn't get it shut down in time, the motor is toast. Usually by the time the oil light comes on it's to late, the damage is done.

wow...that is all I can say. hmmmm, spare tire carrier/stinger combo on a pickup..isnt that what the bed is for, to haul stuff like spare tires etc?? He should slap some fold down legs on it and it can serve as a folding table for picnics etc...
