Important

wow...that is all I can say. hmmmm, spare tire carrier/stinger combo on a pickup..isnt that what the bed is for, to haul stuff like spare tires etc?? He should slap some fold down legs on it and it can serve as a folding table for picnics etc...
Meh, I'm probably going to build a swingout tailgate that has a tire carrier, but I hardly have what could be called a "bed".

It is ugly as sin, and wouldn't last too long with my driving style.

What in the.... But.... Why....

I'm happy I drive a Heep...

Some days I wonder, if it weren't for the mashed up jun kin my driveway that's worth a 1/4 of the money put into it I would have a lot more guns.
I saw PPS's on sale for $399 at centerfire w/4 mags and I want.

4th pic down RT side....

how is he gonna open the gate with that bolt in the way?

Edit: ahhh unless that comes out to swing it down, makes sense now

i kinda like how every thing for the swing down is mounted to the bumper, instead of the swing downs i have seen for XJ that mount through the side of the body

if i were to design something like that the tire would mount to the outside and the "stinger" would be vertical

Tire mounting to the outside is awesome until you come down on it and screw up your rim, slash the sidewall, or just plain get stuck because the tire has awesome traction against something. Steel slides.

I kill shackles with regularity, I couldn't imagine a tire hanging off the back.

I'm shocked I haven't blown up a shackle yet... one of my stock ones was so weak I bent it back into shape with my bare hands when I installed the lift. Metal was about 3/32" thick after the rust fell off.

I now have 1/4" plate teraflex boomerang shackles, so I doubt I'll kill one at this point. I'll probably rip a shackle box or leaf eye mount off the unibody first.

the front leaf eye mount is stout, real stout.

the shackle hanger on the back however.........

I tore one off @ harlan and Nick welded it back on in the campground.

So I have 2 trucks now and wanting to sell my Chevy...my buddy Jeremy (has been to WF the past few yaers w/ me) has been on me to sell it to him and he wanted it real bad, so i priced itto him $2000 under book to help him out. So today I called him and said lets do this b/c I need to off load it and pay myself back for buying the new truck...he said, I'm not sure now, I want to look around some more and I will get back to ya in a few weeks. I hate that kind of shit....price just went back up based on principle. So if anyone is looking for a good tow rg that is fully loaded and no rust...PM me b/c I want it gone yesterday.

On an MJ, sure.

Both are what I not-so-affectionately call "spot welded tin foil" on the XJ.

One of my shackle hangars is a combination of 1/4" plate and 1/8" angle, booger welded together by yours truly, so it () probably isn't going anywhere. Hasn't yet, anyways. The other one worries me... and a friend of mine ripped his shackle hangar off recently and is DDing it held together with grade 8 bolts and luck.

the shackle mounts in the back are sooo simple, and htat is the doublethick part of the "frame" that it would be pretty easy to get a piece of box, drill it for the shackles that come in two pieces (ruffstuff has them) then simply plate the frame with some angle and weld the box to it.

That's basically how my new hangers are going to be done.
had to order frame outriggers for the front leaf eye mounts. Should let me relocate my front leaf spring stuff a few inches forward, and keep the front of the springs above the lower part of the framerail.

Outboarded springs are going to be interesting. I still haven't fgured out what I'm doing for shock mounts, but it's not like I've got anything back there that I have to work around, so it may just be a new x-member under the bed that they get mounted to.

Almost back in MWC territory.

Motor is junk. Because I hit road debris the ins co is putting a new motor in for me.

It could have been worse.

Hopefully fixed by WF.

Fore' I don't hate Hale' Wheeler
