The motor is the same, the accessory brackets are different, the manifolds will bolt up, if the TJ is coil on plug (I don't think it is in 99) then some brackets will have to be made to hold the coil pack rail thingy.

edit: and the water pump was different too I think. We basically stripped his motor down to bare longblock, swapped in an XJ motor and bolted all his TJ crap to it.

I think the water pump is the same. the 96 spins backwards to my 95 4.0 xj motors so I think the 96 is more tj like stuff...i just wanted to make sure the 96 head would bolt up to the 99 intake and exhaust manifold.

I always make sure to talk nice to my Ranger every morning, seems to keep her in a good mood. Of course on the weekends I compliment the 250 to keep her happy also.
