Important

That all me. Its to hot that time of year, have to have my air.

How hot does it have to be to camp, everytime you all have gone to Harlan during the summer you have stayed in the cabins?

If you're doing it sometime after Winterfest, I can loan you my roofing nailer.

John I greatly appreciate the offer. I am hoping to put it off for a while :) When I do it I have a guy locally that has as least one roofing nailer, and possibly access to two, so I should be covered. Thank you tho for the offer.

Time to buy a truck camper to put in the bed of your truck. You can get them with heat and a/c...or add it.

the Amish roofed Camilles new garage in an evening last summer. It took about 3 hours of straight work to cover about 14 squares and they only charged me @ $180. We are seriously considering adding a second story onto part of our house, and if so I will have the Amish back to do the roofing and maybe a few other little jobs..I have a favored framer that I have used in the past that I feel a bit more comfortable with as far as adding the second story onto a nearly 100 yr old home.

I hear they are great electricians too

Anyone know if a 96 XJ block and head will bolt in a 99 TJ in placed of the original block and head. Will the TJ intake bolt up to the XJ head?

mac 'if it works I prolly got a motor sold' gyvr

I've been on jobsites where the house is built by menenites( close to amish but not quite as strict.) and I would have no issues living in a house built by the amish. And the upside is you can get on the internet to make fun of them while they are working. You don't see too many amish websites.

The motor is the same, the accessory brackets are different, the manifolds will bolt up, if the TJ is coil on plug (I don't think it is in 99) then some brackets will have to be made to hold the coil pack rail thingy.

edit: and the water pump was different too I think. We basically stripped his motor down to bare longblock, swapped in an XJ motor and bolted all his TJ crap to it.

Cool. I would camp to, if I had a camper. Old lady will not do the tent thing when its this cold.

I'm sure it's all the wife....

Amish around here are a bit sketchy. They'll do the work cheap, but you must supervise closely, or they will cut corners.

I experienced that with a certain group of Amish that worked for me in the past, they were padding their hours and doing subpar work. The crew that I use now are my "as the crow flies" neighbors and are a good group and do great work. They built Camilles garage in 2 days and ony charged $800 for the whole crew to be there and they even had a clean up guy..which is odd for them. They are always friendly, hard working and you dont have to worry about them tresspassing or stealing (there have been problems with some of the groups with sticky fingers or poaching). I have given them rides to town before, but in the summer you want them to ride in the back of the truck if it is at the end of a hot day...stinky.

Can't get much done with a thumb that don't want to move and if it does, IT DOESN'T LIKE IT!! So, I got the wife's jeep into the garage and am going to try and find the new fuel leak that formed during the winter run on Saturday. Get some garage cleaning done also. Can't do much. Oh wait, beer in hand, polish blackberry next to me, I am getting plenty done this morning!! LOL :D

whats the matter with your thumb...you finally get tired of sitting in it?? :D

Nice! Took a digger and my thumb took the brunt of it. No doctor yet, hopefully it heals itself. Sucks because I have way to much to do right now.

yeah, if you find an honest bunch you're all set. A lot of people think that the Amish in my area are "quaint" but in reality they're business men, and they have no problem hosing the English.

That could start a whole multipage tangent on idiot customers. I'm with ya, I worked at Advance for ~2 years and got the whole range of customers. My favorite is the "all Chevy 350s are the same" people.

well aren't they?
