I have a roof guy from sears home service giving me an estimate on a roof...

The thing is I will probably just do it myself.

We were registering at Sears for wedding stuff and got stopped...free estimate...

yikes.

I'm doing mine myself, even including all the tools I bought, all the materials including 3/4" plywood for the entire roof deck, ladders, etc it is costing me around 5-6k. It's taking me months since I am working alone at the worst time of year to do a roof, but that is a tradeoff I'm willing to accept.

we ran to town today and picked up a few supplies and while at the farm store we picked up some Winterfest supplies..like another heater for the camper, some heavy extension cords etc. I realized I forgot to drain the water tank after Redbird and it is frozen solid. It has not cracked b/c it was only half full at the time, but after I get the heaters cranked up it will hopefully melt it down. I am heading back out to the shop in a bit to work on the shock mounts and hope to tie it up this evening. JR might come out so either we will get a lot done, or a lot drank.

Aaaannnddddd..... I'm out of WF11. The short notice brake job just killed it.

I thought you were staying at Hotel Attica. Are you camping again?

Sears quoted 20k. They did tell me I needed 37.5 square? Of shingles?

The measurements was really all I was after...

mac 'but would take 2k off if I agreed today to do it...which I didnt' gyvr

Jeff, you sure? I could possibly come over this next weekend and help ya do it...
Already done. I don't have the time or a tall enough garage to get it under cover.

Just got a call from my cousin telling me the pumps at the gas station nearby were messed up. I put a half tank in the jeep for $3! :D Someone messed up on the decimal point!

I got it easy compared to that, around 22 square for me... after rounding up every angled edge to a square that covers it and adding 10%.

If you're doing it sometime after Winterfest, I can loan you my roofing nailer.

Just got the call from the mechanic.... *BOTH* rear wheel cylinders were leaking on the Dodge. And the front pads were just about shot. I'm a little irritated about the fronts, I just replaced those last summer.
Jeff, are you using severe duty pads?

Not that I'm aware of. Have to see what the mechanic installed today. I shouldn't really need the severe duty pads as it's either pretty much unloaded, or pulling a trailer with good electric brakes.

thats awesome :D

Craig, I still have hotel reservations at this point, but we are leaning towards camping now. It is cheaper and I think it will be good to have a few of the BOD at the campground and that way Camille can just walk to the camper when she is ready to retire early. And I am hoping that I can take a dook in Wheelers new RV.......

Cool. I would camp to, if I had a camper. Old lady will not do the tent thing when its this cold.

We always recommend them to any customer that does any towing, or plowing with anything 3/4 ton or larger. We have to as all our pads are lifetime warranty. I have some costomers that own construction companies, tow trailers, & plow snow in the winter. Without severe duty pads, we would be replacing them left & right for free.

after cutting off my stock lower shock mounts, I have came up with a fairly easy mounting set up that actually uses part of the stock shock mounts just cut down and relocated. I am going to do a small write up on it possibly after I complete the project this week...

How hot does it have to be to camp, everytime you all have gone to Harlan during the summer you have stayed in the cabins?

:roflmao: Count me in on the cabin this year BTW! :D
