Important

OK, got my entry in for ROTM. Maybe I'll see if I can put the good pic on p-bucket for a more manageable size. And thanks again for getting that pic, Jeff
:D I thought that picture looked familiar...

I just came across a 98 XJ on Kansas City's Craigslist that is $450 but has no title...says it runs good...sounds a bit fishy to me.....in Missouri you have to have a title even if bought just for parts. Not sure buying it w/o title is worth going to jail, even though I do hear they have good grilled cheese sandwiches there :D

Nice pic John. How long did it take to pull the seat cushion out of a certain cavity of your body?

Tyler - sucks about the boat. The best part about my old Glastron is it is actually my buddy's boat, I just keep it at my house to make his wife happy :D My wife on the other hand... between the boat, camper, utility trailer, XJ, FSJ and Durango, our driveway is a little packed.

dug into the baot a bit this evening to try and start diagnosing things. The smoke was coming from the melted rubber exhaust boots on the bellows (?). I turne the batteries back on (has dual batteries ona switch) and they fired all the gauges back up and the lights etc work as well as the stereo stuff. The motor turned over and dry fired but I shut if off immediatly not wanting to run it w/o muffs on it. I am going to have to put water to it to see where the water was coming from on the back of the motor. No water in the oil and the oil level is where it was to start with. I am praying it is just as minor as a busted hose on the back side of the motor that I can not see as of yet (keeping fingers crossed that it is that minor, but still doubtful)

I gave up early tonight and cleaned up the shop and pulled the XJ back into the #1 stall and started to get things ready for the Oklahoma/Kansas wheeling trip we are taking at the end of the month. Too many hobbies and not enough time....

or money! :D

Nobody believes me when I say I was ready to hit the gas if needed :dunno:
It was an adrenaline rush, but less so than other stuff I've done.

Cindy and I looked at a 32' boat with 2 327s a bunch of years ago. Her friends new husband would have almost given it to us. Glad we bought timeshares instead :D

In other news, I finally installed the RC drop brackets on Cindy's jeep. The difference in ride quality is amazing. I didn't think it would make that big of a difference, with the fairly stiff springs and shocks, and the E load range MTRs, but it rides like a Cadillac now.

If your exhaust belows? melted thats where the water came from. replace them and your good to go.

I hope it is that simple, but my thinking is that if they got hot enough to melt they were not getting water up to them in the first place. I talked to a local mechanic and he said it may be a simple as the line that pulls the water up to the motor from the outdrive may have busted and caused the water to not make it to the motor and that could have caused the motor compartment to fill w/ water if it was broke on the interior side of things. So, I am going to check for said line this evening.

John, that is one badass picture. Lots of us have been there,
just didn'y have a camera. I was upsideways once, we were tetering
on the drivers side front wheel and the drivers side rock rail. Three wheels were up in the air. I had Tater and Rich climb out. Rich stood on the passenger side rock rail and it didn't help much. It started tetering the wrong way, so I gave it a rear quick accelertor punch, and we landed safely.

I'm guessing you are going to Disney,Ok and Tuttle in KS. When are you making the trek? If you are up for company and it's the middle two weeks I may be able to catch up with you. Or if I can't go and you have time you could always stop by the house for some burgers and a couple brews.

Hey Chris,
We are heading to the Joplin, MO area Friday the 24th and will head on to Disney,OK Saturday morning the 25th. We are going to wheel Disney that Saturday and maybe Sunday, if we dont wheel Disney on Sunday we will go up to KS Rocks and wheel there on Sunday. If things permit we are thinking about heading up to Tuttle on Monday for another day of wheeling. Right now Disney is a for sure on Sasturday (unless the flood gates are open) and really wanting to hit KS Rocks for once. Never been there and would love to check out a new place. If we dont make it to Tuttle it is not such a loss b/c I have wheeled it many times before.

Well my buddy has been holding out on me. Turns out he's had a red top sitting in his basement that is a couple years old thats never been used. His brother was ousted from the house a few months ago and all his stuff is now property of my buddy and his mom(she bought it anyways). He also found 4 pairs of PIAA driving lights that his brother had still in boxes. So since the Jeep gets paid off Friday i'm getting her 4 shiny ass PIAA's and an Optima red top! :yelclap:

They are the PIAA 1000's pictured but the housings are black http://www.amazon.com/PIAA-1094-P10..._1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1247005186&sr=1-1 . I am going to mount them on my Surco semi-flush with the front of the rack for protection, I may even be able to have them recessed behind the front of the rack.

I am now on my way out to the driveway to tear apart my boat motor.
Anyone ever rebuild a 175 Johnson?
Can it be any harder than a Chain saw X6?

Tyler, I have also come to the realization that I too have way too many toys.
Something must go......
