Got back from Sedona and Moab last night. Had a great time. And anyone that's worried about driving their XJ to Moab and breaking :dunno:

And we towed a U-haul trailer with a bunch of you-know-whats back, too...

Got a few more pics in my MWXJ gallery, I'll try to get a webshots album together over the weekend.

I'm home and gald to be here.
108° shit sucks.
Plan is to do absolutely nothing all day, so far I'm right on track.:D

Today is cancelled on the basis the world is conspiring against me.

Went to mow the lawn, recoil starter rope breaks off inside the mower.

Went to do some laundry, towel wraps around the agitator, washing machine screeches to halt.

Went to work on bathroom remodel. Needed to trim a piece of laminate for the vanity kit. Dropped the blade retaining bolt from the circular saw under the work bench, WAY in the back. Directions for vanity kit had me glue the dowels in the wrong holes, so I had to drill those out. Went to put in the correct cam lock dowel tapping it with a hammer. Knocked a hole all the way thru the cabinet side. Got to love vanity-in-a-box kit. Finally got it assembled and the sink on it. I don't think that the door will clear it when I reinstall the door. Went to sand down all of the patched spots in the drywall, one of the pets has siezed my sanding block and its chewed up.

Had some Jeep stuff to work on. I can't afford anything else breaking, I'm going to pilot the couch and watch the NFL network all day.

Working on a friends wj for him. Brakes done after a complete system flush, because I accidentally grabbed the bottle of power steering fluid instead of DOT3.

Rear axle seal a no-go. Smashed my thumb trying toget the axle out, apparently it is a c-clip rear.

Trans fluid a no go for now, have to remove pan to drain fluid.

Overall that thing is a way better design (at least on the front end) than the xj. Dual piston calipers, Boxed control arms, crossover steering, large diameter tie rod, anti sway bar is further away from the spring as is the shock mount. Only downside is that front Low pinion axle and WTF is that front driveshaft? CV joints full of fluid at both ends flanged to the T-case and Pinoin?

Spent all day today on this little thingmagigger. It now has 2 coats of Eastwood rust encapsulator on it and is ready to be painted. Another coupla weeks and I will hopefully have a completely painted rolling chassis.

Looks like a lot of work, have fun! What's the project vehicle?

I got the T-Max swapped over to the new XJ today with a little help from my oldest:

It's a '72 cj5 that has 25k miles on it. It's been in the family since new and I have taken it upon myself to make it last another 30+ year.s

Here's what the whole thing looked like before I started to rebuild it.

Sweet. Buddy of mine is rebuilding a Willys in a kind of backwards way; redoing all of the Willys sheetmetal on the tub and dropping it on a 4WD Toyota pickup chassis, motor and all. Not how I would do it, but it'll be cool when it's done.
