This took a day and a half just to pull the rear springs and install the rear locker. The complications arose when the bolts finally came out of the nut inserts in the body, and froze to the sleeve in the spring eye bushing.
Put it this way.....the frame bent and the bolt still didn't come out when we hooked the top of the hi-lift to it and used it as a slide hammer. The frame bending did however allow easy removal once the bolt was cut. Those bolts aren't found in any hardware store or industrial shop. For some reason no one carries a 14mm bolt with a 2mm thread pitch.
welcome to the hell that is working on mine.goodburbon said:just lifted my bro in laws 99'
Mass. Jeeps suck! They must salt the roads. 4 hours just to get the leaf springs off. 3 additional holes had to be cut into the body to get nuts on spring bolts, and the shocks.
because we mine salt here, and it's uber cheap.goodburbon said:Why not just stop dumping salt all over the roads?
My jeep was a Colorado state vehicle. They've got snow there yet my jeep did Not have a lick of rust on it till I cut the fenders. Even now the only rust there is on mine is surface rust on the places where I've either cut it and been too lazy to paint it or the tires rubbed the paint off.
