I bought all my LS swap stuff into the 68 from CPP and it was a breeze to swap. No fabrication needed at all except on the motor mount adapter plates simply bc I thought the bought ones looked light weight.
Good catch on the tcase Tim, I was not that far into thinking about it yet, but I am thinking that a front axle swap may be easier than swapping in a tcase to get the full factory motor, tranny and tcase to stay mated up from LS donor vehicle. Still way early in the planning phase. Hoping the truck is as solid as the guy claims. Body work and paint dosent bother me, rust does.
