Important

A JD x700 series or brand equivalent would be the minimum I'd go Tyler for what you're doing. I'd look for something with a geared transmission tbh but they get spendy. I would avoid anything that is "Big box store" marketed as they typically are spec'd to only last 250-500 hrs.

I've spent the last month or so inside the transmissions of a lot of these tractors and can tell you some tips to make em last once you find one you like.

JD=Overpriced green paint.
I would have a Mahindra before I bought one of those POSs!

Green Bay had one, it's closed now. We had one in Stevens Point, the Ramada (old Holidome) it was in closed and got torn down and they never relocated. I had just assumed the Tilted Kilt chain was going tits up.
The TK in Rockford is straight up ghetto!, Well it is Rockford...
We went to the one in Peoria and it was good.
Twin Peaks in Texas is a g(.)(.)d place too!

When Sean heard the knock coming out of 4.0 a few weeks back he called me a brave man; it's been making that noise in various severity for 20-30k miles. It goes away when it's warmed up. I am looking forward to seeing what the bearings look like when I tear it apart.
You drove 200 miles to drink beer around a fire pit in a Jeep that sounded like it has 5 carpenters working under the hood...

I only know more about them than others cause I work on them so much! :roflmao:
I also got one free-to-me and like all things I own I research the hell out of it before I get it. Being a transmission guy I've also taken an interest in the hydro-static transmissions as they only come from two different 3rd party companies and its interesting to see how the company specs them verses the manufacturer that buys them for their equipment.

Tyler what model did you get? Yours trans-axle should have a spin on filter and drain on the hydro unit. Model depending JD likes to sell their equipment with conventional 10w30 oil in them. Get that junk out and put in Mobile 1 15w50 for summer and 5w50 (Or a synthetic equivalent) if you use it in the winter. You'll thank me later...

Then scrape the stickers off and paint it orange!

Can't say I'm too surprised

Yes, but they're part time carpenters... I'll have a different daily driver finally here shortly so you won't have to worry about me in July, need dates btw

I also still drive it to where the valves come out and tap dance on the hood before I let it shift. It hasn't let go.... yet.

I stand corrected, Green Bay still has one, according to their website it's the only one in Wisconsin now. The Green Bay Hooters closed.

There is a lack of breastaurants around here.

Doctors report, my shoulder is trash. I go next Thursday to the orthopedic surgeon to get things lined up for surgery. There goes my summer..fawwwwwwwwwwwwwwK!!!!

How did you hurt the shoulder? Hopefully it's not your beer holding shoulder.

I got rolled hard my a mad momma cow this spring when I was going after its calf to put in an ear tag. She knocked me down and through a fence and once up I got to the calf to throw it and when I went to pick it up I fell down with it into a ditch and landed on my shoulder. I wish a had a cooler story than that, like threw it out on a wild 4 way with back flips and hi-fives......
