WTF is a deservicing straw?

BLUF: Plastic tube



Aviation oil sample kits come with glass bottles, a padded envelope and a 3 foot long plastic tube to take the sample like a 5 year old playing with his drink in a restaurant. Suck the oil in the tube, deposit it in the bottle.

We don't use them anymore because everywhere that we take a sample from has a quick release sample port. They are useful for making your boroscope line rigid. We use them all the time to route a boroscope into an area where you need to push a rope so to speak.

I might need one to service the angle gear. Cause no one saw fit to put a drain plug in it, and the housing is just barely larger than the ring gear.

not sure how Volvo intended you to service it.

It went good. We talked before the job was even posted(getting posted today) He said he has to get someone within a couple weeks. He met with me last night because his current guy resigned that morning.



He said I remind him of himself and he likes what I have to bring to the table. So I feel good about it.
