Important

there's no motor mounts on my engine.

I told you it was creepy.
When I first realized that I was like
OMG! It's 900 lbs hanging off the flywheel housing and banging down the road.

but that's how they all are.

if you want to look into making an RTOO
google
RTO 9513 RTOO gear swap

basically you pop the rear plate, swap the 5th gear clusters and BAM RTOO.

I feel like I just rode in the car to winterfest with Nate, ken and Dylan...

Sounds like Im leaving at the end of March. I have a shitload of stuff to get done before then. Winterfest, Truck maintenance (oil change, f/r brakes, disk swap rear, wheel bearings), clean, pack, quit work, etc...

Ken..have you looked at 4btswaps.com for info...lots of bro trucks on there, but some great resources too. There is a whole section dedicated to 5.9 tech

I need to get a golf cart battery for my gas golf cart.

Anyone know anything about them?

Personal experience? I can google...

mac 'over due for one' gyvr

Most golf cart batteries are old school lead acid with water servicing caps. They last longer when maintained properly. Is your cart on a twelve volt system?

You need to match what's in there. It should be bigger than a motorcycle battery.

Sams Club sells golf cart batteries. my boss's cart takes 6 batteries. Duracell GC2 batteries were $84.52 each and $15 core charge last April.

Electric?

Mac's cart is gas, so he just needs a starting battery. Most electric carts have 6 volt batteries wired in series to create the right voltage. We have one at work that is 8 batteries wired for 48 volts.

So I'm thinking about buying a welder with the tax return and some advice would be great! I'm wanting a mig that runs on 110. I don't have 220 and my shop and the guy I'm renting the shop from won't put 220 in. So I'm thinking about the Hobart 140 handler from TSC??? Now I don't know much about welding and will be learning as I go. I've arch welded plenty of times on the farm, working construction and even on the trail so I got the basics for safety. What should I look for in a welder and what else would I need that usually doesn't come with the welder?

I have got the Hobart 140 welder and it does everything I need to. never had any problems out of it. I think its a good welder to start out with

If you get a Lincoln or Hobart it should come with a gas kit, at that point all you would need is the bottle. Definetly get the bottle, as flux core blows.

Hobart should do you just fine, I use a 187 for everything I do.

I do everything with fluxcore because I work in my yard and it burns a bit hotter and requires less prep, but yeah, MIG produces much nicer welds.

Any chance you have two different 120 circuits on opposite hot legs? There is a chance you can make a ghetto Y-cord that combines the two hots from them and gives you 220 :gee:

this sounds safe.

A 110 machine will do most anything you will need to do. Most of my rig was built with a 110v, I only got my 220v a couple years ago.

One thing you could look into is a multi voltage machine. My Hobart 210 can run on 110 and 220. If you can afford it, I'd look into that for when you do eventually get 220 wherever you are.
