FWIW, the rear shackle bolts are the same as the front leaf eye bolts.

Uhh, whoops! That's unfortunate. Though you'll probably get more out of your insurance pay-off than you have in it.
All six of the leaf bolts plus the LCA bolts are actually exactly the same part, like, the same dealer part number and everything, on all XJs except possibly some real early ones. It's rather convenient.

All the LCA and spring/shackle nuts are as well, including the weld nut ones, they're just welded down in an annoying spot.

I just sold my jeep.

There's a tear in my beer, and I'm going to drink a lot of beers tonight.

Sad day. Happy day.

I was there...

Probably should double check the parking brake on your truck with 40 tons in the back....

You would be amazed how often that happens. You have to pull a knob to set the brakes. When you do it. Ten times a day every day for years it just becomes habitual. The problem with habits is that they spawn complacency. It's that one time you didn't think to check that will get ya.

My truck has a pretty nasty alarm that goes off if I open my door and the brakes aren't set, running or not but its the only truck I've ever had that did.

We have the the presidential palace...

Thanks for the input guys , you were right a hardware store or fastenal was a no go.
I picked two up at the dealership So i have a spare that conveniently works in more places than i expected.

Got the new shackles and 3 of the 4 bushings replaced.
Then the front on the other side popped and im pretty sure the weld nut broke free and is spinning.

Looks like ill cut an access hole to get a wrench on the back side tomorrow.
This is turning into a pita , maybe when i was lucky enough to get them off the first time i shouldve wire brushed them and used anti seize ?

I sympathise with you Dan , i couldn't imagine letting mine go.

Also im glad you didn't get smashed there Flex !

I am not that drunk...

Dan is plowed...

No trips to flint without me! I wish I was there. I'd be hammered and have two fire extinguishers holstered to my hips.
