Jeep guy and Mac are going to be at the blessing, so will I. I will have a trailer. We can make it work.
Insufficient construction was proven. Teardown of the motors with bad aftermarket filters showed that filter media had blown out of the filters and plugged oil passages and jets. Once the pattern has been shown, at a minimum, the initial brands are a known problem.
That is my thought honestly. If it comes down to it, the bed of the truck is a 6' bed with a nice topper on it.Don't do it.
depends on the bumper on the truck and the camper.
Specs/prices?
Don't know how I would get either one though...
The 87-90 XJ/MJ one? AW4 with a special torque converter and bellhousing. Everything else is the same. Someone spotted one in socal, there is a thread on the socal chapter atm, maybe get one of them to pull those parts and ship them. They should at minimum fit any RENIX era AW4 and I would suspect they will fit 90s AW4s too.I'm still looking for the odd-ball 2.5L Auto trans (and possibly the 2.5L depending on year)...

4.0 is only like 500lbs... throw down a tarp/pallet, strap that sucker down in the back? It weighs the same as two dudes in the back seat IMO, I'd rock it :gee:He has $100 in it.
The history of this motor is that it came via Dan and something he parted out.
Has all the accessories on it.
I could bring it to Michigan next weekend...except I was planning to drive the LJ up. I could single place tow the LJ with the F350 and put the motor in the bed or I could bring the big trailer. Either way both are going to cost me quite a bit more in fuel than just driving the LJ. I'm willing to help get this figured out cause he really wants to get rid of the motor and he could use a little extra cash for medical bills that his unborn child has...

This is just a thought, but is pulling a camper with a ball attached to the bumper good? This is not anything concrete just thinking. If I come to WF in 2015 and have a friend with a camper, my dad has a 01 Ram 1500 with the 318 I could possibly borrow. I am not a fan of bumper pulling, much prefer a frame attached hitch. If I ever become owner of said truck, it will be getting a frame attached hitch.
You have obviously never had anything as nice as an 04 LJ...

Else I suspect you are talking about a 32RH or similar from a YJ?
I have an AW4, I would need the bell housing and converter... I've been looking at the 904/30RH being that the motor I'm looking to get is carbed that would make life easier...
