Pulled a 242 out of a 99 XJ today at the pick and pull.

It was skeeeeeeeeeeetchy even for me.

It was propped up on rims. There was a motor mount missing. No jacks or jack stands allowed.

I got it out. I didn't die. It took me about 1.5 hours. Sucked doing it in the gravel without air tools...and I forgot my special bent 9/16 wrench.

Its going in the 5.9.

yeah mac our pick and pull is the same way...they weld 2 rims into a t and prop the whole car up on them. it always scares me to get underneath, but so far i've pulled a couple of axles and under carriage parts with no deaths...

the guys there recognize me so they usually will move the cars or jack them up on the end loaders if i need to get at the under side.

It does have a 249 in it now.

I turned in my original 231 for core. It was all used up...not much original from the 231 that came in my 95 when I bought it.

I do have a 91 242 forsale. I'm going to post a thread in forsale.

I also got a headlight switch, power window regulator for the ds rear window, window switch for same window, oh shit handle for passengers side, and a couple other small things.

All the cars were set up on rims like that. Hobag, I'm not sure that battery sawzall would've saved much time.

I couldn't believe all the newer stuff in the yard...but I haven't been to a salvage yard in years cause I've pretty much owned one...

Why won't my windshield wipers return to the cowel on my Monte? They work fine, but stand straight to when off. :dunno:

The park feature is broke and they don't park

It makes getting to the upper/side bolts very easy, because the floor gets out of your way.

Shoot that was easy, after I pulled the cross member and with the motor mount missing it fell almost on the ground. Top bolts were easy.

Agreed, just find out if the park electronics is in the stalk or the motor and replace that part. I am betting it is in the motor.

I went to the Monte Carlo forums, and there's a metal tab that gets bent periodically. I need to bend it back and I will be in business. It seems to be a pretty common problem

Even cheaper!

Two days left of my work in the current building. Still crazy that there hasn't been a real good practice cast yet with real video for the stories, keys, etc.

Why? So you can set them next to your axle and talk about installing them someday?

:D

Haha! Everything else has went on in a timely fashion...the running gear is a different story! :laugh3:

better 5.9 than 5.2, that's what I say anyways...
