Important

were you been????

I guess I haven't seen much on WF planning here. I posted the quote from the Pre-Registration sticky in response to the claim that all was free.

It does NOT say that camping is free for Members. The fee structure is mentioned and specifically excludes all mention of camping fees, excepting the following line where it now reads that Badlands fees and Non-Member Camping fees are not covered.

Don't mistake me. I think that free WF Camping at the Badlands CG is a great deal and a well thought out perk; it's just not mentioned on the flyer.

Sean, You should post that Waiver in a sticky with the Pre-Registration form. Posting in this thread is just about worthless as in 1 day it will get buried.

As I look out the window, and see the snow on the ground with more snow falling I think of this...

only 5 more months.
It is the Mazon River southeast of Morris, IL.

Now back to what you guys were talking about....

Whats up homo?

Where you living these days?

Ha, just made a post on another forum about paddling. Looking forward to a paddle I didn't get to do last year. Cagles Mill Lake to Cataract Falls. When the paddle was supposed to happen, the lake was too high and there were no lower falls. If a friend of mine is off this year when that paddle happens, plan on borrowing another friends tandem kayak and have her go with me. She has never been kayaking.

Oh, man that area is beautiful. I did my master's work upstream of the falls. I got the privilege to hike a lot of private land around near Carp, Quincy, Eminence and Alaska. There are several steep walled and deep 'culs' that drain off the the south. I was going over the topos from the 1930's and reading geologic reports on the area with my mouth agape over the loss of a truly unique area that is now under the waters of Cagle's Mill Reservoir. The falls are pretty and the lake is nice, but they flooded a canyon that had 100'+ sheer walls carved into limestone and sandstone; some places the walls were only 50' apart from each other. That would have been some paddle! The lake was considered an improvement.

Their fine once you put that filter on the turbo. Mine is NA nut its the early 2.5 with shitty HG's!

Interesting chat about the Subie turbos. My friend's has been sitting at the dealership for a few days/weeks while he contemplates a $3500 repair. This would be the second time the turbo needs replaced, car is probably an 07 or thereabouts. My wrenching buddy and I have been threatening to do it ourselves to save him a grand or two.

Is there a NAXJAesque Subaru forum or a decent website where we can brain up on it?

what model is it? legacy or impreza...

there is a legacy gt forum out there. honestly, we only had a dealer repair it because subaru gave us money for it. there is a problem with the turbos even if the dealership tells you there is not. you are best off pulling to turbo to see how much damage happened to the intake. then swap in a better turbo. they are cheaper than the factory turbo ($1200)...and will probably last longer

I think it's a Legacy, but I'm not 100%. I just found out it's at the dealership a few days ago; we are thinking we could probably get it sorted out for less than the dealership, and it would give us an excuse to hang out in the barn and drink.

Figured I'd do a little research and see what we could find. Surprised to see it pop up on NAXJA though.

$1200?! We were wondering if the aftermarket wouldn't be a better source of parts. AFAIK, he's a pretty tame driver, and this is basically a DD from what I understand. If it just needs a filter setup to keep the bearings clean and a decent turbo, I would think that's probably something we could fix, although I'm loathe to see what a FI system looks like on a modern car. My last turbo was an 80something Mitsu, haven't touched a FI car since.

That decision came about after I posted the flyer.
I can send you all of the information and you are more than welcome to do this next year.
I hope someone will, because I sure as hell won't be doing it!
I have better things to do with my time.

You know that we all love you for all that you do. It has nothing to do with you having a sexxxy arse. :kissyou:

I am better now after a cup of coffee.
Thanks for asking.....

I am so excited, I get to snow blow my driveway again. I hope I don't wake up my 20 something kids that are sound asleep.

drag the SB up to their room and test fire it and when they wake up with "that look" say "rents due mother fawkers!"

and YES Sean, you will need to make a trip down to investigate the Middle of Nowhere...it is right up your alley! Brad, Flex and Marcus went down there with me for a few beers (and a Dr Pepper) and a bite to eat, I think they approve!

I'm on indianaimpreza.com. Bought my Subaru off the guy who runs the site. Lots of the dealership guys frequent the forum too. Or legacygt.com like altrocker1 said.

yep, well aware. Hind site is 20/20. Should have traded kman for his bonnie, even with giving him $1k with the jeep I would be up another $3k. Should have never got a car from a kid. Should never have gotten a car that needed "wth little bit of work". I can go on for hours. The Monte is nearly new now.

Anyone want to give me $7k for it? I wouldn't be making a penny.

I feel ya, i owe just under 5k on a car i drove for 7 months and have spent a few grand getting running right. not to mention trade in value is less than 4k

Sam'wish is didn't buy a gas saver'set
