nothing wrong with towing with a half ton. my tahoe is rated at half ton, and my dodge that I towed to winterfest last year is a half ton and I had a camper on it. half ton is payload, not tow rating

That's a good thing about interstates, should be long non-stop runs. Then again, IIRC, you're heading for the East Coast.600 miles in 9.5 hrs. One stop for fuel.
