cant wait to get back to work to rest...

i started the long weekend Friday night putting the sliders on my jeep so i was up from 6:00am to 3:am

Saturday i was up from 7:00am till 2:30ish working on 3other XJ's

Sunday it was another early one around 7 again getting Rollin on my wife's new patio, laid bricks till about 11:30

today we were up by 7 again and probably not crashing for another hour or two

Rew'kinda like im 18 again'ster

i to am sooooo glad to be at work again.

lifted 2 jeeps, helped a lil with the patio, went golf, did yard work at home.
a nice 4 day week of work should help heal the body.

o and rew i think we will worry about the track bar and control arms next week. i am sick of the under side of jeeps at this point

the realization has came that I have Buggy-a-cidis so bad that I actually started a part out list of my XJ....but I just cant do it. It is paid for, it wheels good and cost nothing to let sit in the barn. So it will still be there until next time I have the itch to wheel it, or when I get stuck in a chore truck and Camille has to rescue me in the XJ. :D We are planning a trip to SMORR in July so it will probably get a little love before then, but not much.

Well, if it was your jeep being lifted you were looking at the headliner, not the floor! :D

i feel you man, i have a gorgeous 99 durango.came with ALL the goodies, leather seats, 5.9l,3rd row,etc.. its completely paid off and has been for years. with the 5in lift and 33in tires and 5.9l engine, i cannot afford to drive it anywhere. but no matter how hard i try i cannot seem to talk myself into selling. so there it sits in my driveway looking good not doing anything.

Start chopping that thing up and make it a hybrid XJ&buggy kinda like mac, wheeler, and brianho's rigs. there is one in the F/S threads that still has a d30 and 8.25 but everything else is buggyish

I agree......I know a guy with a bender.....

not sure which direction to go. The body is getting pretty beat up, not a straight panel left on it. It has the interior cage and stiffeys on it so it has a good platform to build from. I have the 60's still sitting there but need to figure out a t-case combo that will work good, prob a doubler set up. I am weird in the sense that if it is going to be an XJ buggy, I want to retain my doors since the kiddo goes out with me from time to time. The fronts are removeable already and I have a set of tube doors for it. I would toy with the notion of back half-ing it and tubing that part out but not sure if I would stay w/ leaves or go to coils at that point. I like the look and function of a dove tailed rig. With alittle finese wrk and minor fab I would like to be able to run 38's if I so desired. My 60's are geared w/ 4.10's but with a doubler I could get to a crawl ratio that would still be good I would think. I need to study up some more but definaty have the itch to do something.....and a long ass road trip to Hobags is not out of the question.

cut it before you roll it? lets get you on your roof and then cut it, that would be more fun. I can get you there. :D

been a long weekend, worked till 3 am Sat morn, up at 8 am to road trip to Mac and Grace's reception, hotel with Teresa which was a good time but didn't get me caught up on sleep. Drove home Sunday morn to take a 20 min nap and off to drink more beers with friends, slept like a puppy Sun night, then up at 7am to weld a hitch for my dad and then off to a cookout/poker tourney Monday. Up again this morning @ 7am to get the kids on the bus and change the radiatior in my lil Jeep and put the Bushwacker flares on the Dodge. phew. I need a vacation.

I want to pull the trigger on a full tube buggy...

I'm afraid that it will take me a couple years to complete...even though I have a lot of the parts to make it happen. Biggest is motor and trans, I want a v8.

I also need a new rear axle.

I'm running 5.13s or 5.38s can't remember with bald 39s...

are all you chopped guys running stock wheel base? If I remember correctly, mac is linked and hobag and wheeler are leafs out back? I need to measure my width now and see what it will be if I go full width w/ the 60's. I have wheel spacers and offset on my current set up so I am not thinking it will make it more then an inch or two wider then my current set up...unless I use viagra and extenzee. :D The front end should not be that bad to set up since I already have the long arm set up and could even make it to a 3-link pretty easy....but then comes the problem w/ adapting the TNT belly pan to work with dual cases...it will all be a work in progress but still doable.

IIRC, Beezil ran quarter elliptic buggy springs in the rear. Just another option.

I am at 108" wheel base (front forward 2-3 and rear back about 5) and stock width axles. The width has only ever been a problem one time, at land between the lakes I couldn't sqweeze through 2 trees.

Regear would be cheaper than a doubler, and would probably work since you have an auto tranny, but doublers are waaay cooler.

hobag are your refering to stock width as stock to an XJ or stock to the FW axles? I think w/ the proper rim spacing I could have FW axles under my rig with it being the same as my width with the XJ axles w/ spacers and offset rims.

I'm 110 wheel base. 3 or 4 up front to keep d60 out of oil pan and 5? In the rear.

Coilovers with a 3 link and track bar up front and four link with angles that made beezil cringe in the rear with coilovers.

Fullsize stock width up front for the 60 and eaton has spacers in the back.
