Holy hell man, 1400?

I pay 850/mo here in for a 2 bd 2 ba. Yes it's hemet, but the same applies generally for all over the 951 area. And my complex is super nice.

man i could film so much porn in that swimming po... wait, what? oh yea. haha :D

nice. what im really looking for is less than 1k a month, in a decent area to raise my kids, with at least 3 bedrooms. rent or buy doesnt matter, but i have a crappy debt to asset ratio right now so im not going to get a good loan anytime soon (thats what my wife does, and hasnt closed a loan since last december). so i am probably stuck renting... i would like somewhere decent tho. i mean hell i know an apt complex in compton i can get a 3 bedroom apt for 300 a month... but i would be the only tennant not on or selling crack

ugh.

I feel for you Grimm, Im in the same boat as most of us too, if i didnt have the place im at now, I dont know what id be doing. Pretty much your only option would be high desert or in da hood and if your like me in not trying to have my kid around that crap. So da hood is pretty much out. I know most 2bd 2bth apt in upland area is atleast $1200 the lowest I have seen and it wasnt the best of areas. Sucks man

Temecula is hella cheap right now with the foreclosures and what not...

I can't even tell you how many nice ass homes I saw going for under 1500 -"a month.

It was 800/mo 1 bedroom with garage, but we were on the WRONG side of the tracks.

I moved from Moorpark which is in Ventura County... Wouldnt say its TOOOO expensive..

Highland/San bernadino (north end) is all cheap, hell I was renting a 1200sq/ft town home in redlands for 1200 a month. Yes, the 909 sucks ass, but it's cheap out here, and relatively nice. The is alot of apartments out this way, most are in a good area. If you decide to look out this way, I'm sure me and Craig can point you in a good direction.
there are a few NAPA's out here, one in redlands, and one in highland.

im moved up here to portland. My job is less than a mile away from where i live. Other than that things are about the same. Gas is $3.69, and too many people..

A NICE 2 bd apt is $800 in Portland. Plus PDX is 10x better than socal to live in! :peace:

We have 3 or 4 NAPAS up here. The loan gigs suck up here too. Funny I was just talking about moving to Idaho last night but I've never been there.

Hey, Don't be dissin' Idaho till you at least check it out...
This is a great place to live and awesome to wheel but, like everywhere else the economy sucks. I just saw a 3 bed/2 bath home going for 140K so there are deals here. Lot's of foreclosures to look at too.

Grimm, you need to get out of Napa! I pay my stock guy 2k a month and our counter guys make around 3500-4500 a month. Yea you can't sit and surf NAXJA all day, but you could double your pay.

Well We flew to colorado last yr and looked around new the outskirts of Denver. It was about 1/3 of the cost here for housing, at least compared to what we pay now (4600mo in mortgage) for a nicer home with more sq footage and brand new within 10 miles of denver tech area.

I feel ya with cost of living. We been waiting for the time to sell our house and move to CO. when ever if ever the housing market makes the turn back to even resonable, we will sell our house and move out. We bring home over 240K yr and right now if I Had to say replace the pool equipment with out of pocket cash, I couldnt. And we try to save. but with the house payment of 4600 and the utilities cost (last month elect was over 500 alone), we just cant justify living where we do anymore. Given its all higher middle class with vertually no minority (less the house keepers and nanny's that get off the bus at the end of the street and walk by on the way to their jobs for the day).

Good luck. I would not give up our current house to move vertually anywhere else in so cal. So for us its out when the time comes. Honestly what does so cal offer that is So much better then some other western states? Durty ass stink water?

Oh and as a reference to CO housing.
http://www.cohomefinder.com/p/80013/639904.htm 199K fixer. but look at the lot and house size and 3 car garage. thats a typical house there also.

There are some nice places around Denver. My father lives in Aurora, and loves it. It does get snow all the way into June sometimes but he loves camping all over the Rockies. It is not as cheap as it seems though, there food is more than here, but he swears there beef is twice as good.

Well Grimm I feel for ya... I was on a two year plan to downsize and move to Redding back in 04 before I met my wife.. Now I am stuck here in the OC. I have had offers in Grand Junction, since it has been booming again in the last two years, and Reno. But like Rich said, you need to get out of Napa and get into a dealer that is going to be there in 5 years.. I would suggest a toyota or honda store since they are the only ones making any money these days.. Either that or look into the Aerospace industry since it is picking up again..

Food? how much more can food really be. When we went there for a week it didnt seem to stand out enough for us to even notice. but that was only for a week.

We went in Feb 06 and the first snow of the year just was starting, and the locals were telling us that it was a Huge blizzard for a whole day and dropping more then usual. they got a whopping 6" in 2 days, and the rest of the week maybe 4" total. On the freeway we were doing 60 and honestly I could not see the lane sep lines, and barely the veh in front of me. I was told you get as close as you need to, to see the lights in front of you and then just stay in the tire grooves. We did that for like 40 miles. it was scary at first but very nice compared to cali. You get 100 drops of water from the sky and wrecks are everywhere and traffic jams etc.. In co if you stop on the freeway you get a ticket. thats AWESOME! all these morons with POS cars and such make me sick when they decide to stop on the freeway and it causes a 4 miles back up.

In any case in the denver and Aurora we were told by the locals that the snow never really gets hampering except Huge storms and only form like maybe midnight till about 7am, when theres no traffic or plows to clear the groves or roads. and even then your only in a few inches typically and most any car and any real 4x4 can get around without issue? We got a 4x4 WJ when we got there and was never kept from going anywhere in their huge storm that week.

Mike, up here in the high des there are tons of inexpensive places to live. There is also a large napa store with a machine shop. There are also all the dealers up here within prob 2 miles of each other.

I have found houses up here in the 80-90k range, more than likely fixer uppers but that would mean a very low payment.

The one thing you have to worry about up here are the schools, there are some very good ones, and some REALLY shitty ones.

When my daughter graduates HS we are comtemplating moving east, Tennessee or alabama.

Good luck on looking, and if you are interested in this area give me a shout, I will do some looking for you.

im just looking to save some dough man, i cant hang with 1400$ a month rent for my little 2 bedroom apt anymore. i need OUT!

That's CHEAP man.

My mom has an apartment in HB, off Magnolia and Warner (by the mini golf place). She pays $1950 per month for a 2 bedroom, upstairs apt. with a tiny little back patio and a single carport.

In comparison...I'm paying $2000 per month (renting, with roommates) for a 3 bed, 2 bath house in Garden Grove...HUGE back yard, big front yard, 2 car garage, 6-car driveway.

There should be some sort of law or cap on rentals here...it's just highway robbery. Makes me want to shoot people and I'm usually a pretty peaceful guy.

I want to move out of state too. The pros of living here don't' out-weigh the cons in my book. I'm looking at Oregon, Colorado, and possibly Mass. or Conn. But this would be a few years out.
