Funny what info is passed around. Focus beat both Toyota Corrolla and Honda Civic in J.D. Powers initial quality study for a couple of years, it was the top rated car in it's category in initial quality.

That actually explanes alot, I have a friend that worked at both a Ford and an Toyota dealer and has said that the Toy's had a higher number of TSB and recalls than even Ford did, and I've heard that the Focus is pretty much an internation joke when it comes to recalls.

The redesigned focus was supposed to be much more reliable. Had one for two weeks, it got totalled (nobody was hurt, not my fault) and I bought a Crown Vic.

Comfortable, Fast, Cheap...and people get out of my way.

At one time I might have believed what they said. But after the other big consumer report mag getting busted for purposely trying to flip a trooper...I just don't have much trust in what some magazine says.

Even though I rag on fords and I admit...its a brand loyalty thing (mostly) Whenever I get into an argument over what car is better I have to stand back and say buy whatever you like.

In todays hugely aggressive and competitive auto market the manufacturers can't afford to let their quality slip that far behind someone Else's. There is just too much to lose.

HAHA! All you need is a spotlight and a CB antenna on the trunk lid and YOUR SET! :-)

Or, just the CB antenna... Nothing else. :-)

Yeah, so I finally get my truck back from the shop today(been there for almost a week for a/c work), and not even 3 hours later it's getting towed back. I think the fuel pump went out. LAME! So now im stuck once again in our "extra" pos. Oh yeah, our central shop guys are tools who can't do anything right.

Well, I'm late to this discussion but I give you the immortal words of my (still mortal) father:

"God Damn Fords and F%#kin' Shivilays!"

He was Mopar all the way. Not that he didn't cuss at them, but when they broke you could fix 'em.

That said, I drove a Dodge Ram 1500 with the V-6 Magnum for a few days at work recently. Holy Crap! What a POS!

The wife will continue to drive minivans. That's what she likes - That's what she gets. Dodge, Toyota, whatever. Just no GDFs or eFin Shivilays.

Me? I'll be driving XJ's just as long as I can.
