i hate really hate fords...

The problem with Honky's experience is he is driving the lowest of low fleet 4cyl POS Rangers you can get.

I have had four of them. Loved them!

My brother in-law is still driving my '92 and he is not one for maintenance.

I loved the '01 X-Cab 4.0 4x4 I traded for my XJ. The only reason I got rid of it was because I was starting to realize I needed something a little more trail capable. In order to upgrade the Ranger I was going to have to cut off the front suspension and replace it with a custom coi-over. That was a little to radical for my blood.

If I could have afforded it I would have kept the Ranger for my DD.

I have driven one of those POS that Honky's driving and they are amazingly different from the models I had.

I love my F250 Powerstroke 4x4.....bad ass truck.

I also love all the Fords that I sell that pays for my Jeep habit. :D

I have one as well, but the superduty's are a whole different class of Ford. I would never own a ford that wasn't stamped superduty.

I had a 1999 Ford Ranger ex Cab 4.0 v6 that I drove for a year. Then I lifted it with a dixon bro's racing suspension kit with fox coil overs, beat the piss out of it, and drove it for another year. Only problem that I ever had was blowing out the ball joints at Gordon’s Well and having to sleep in it for the night to make sure no one stole anything. It was ok because my friends came over to where the truck was and brought me plenty of beer. Went to Yuma in the morning got the ball joint, replaced it in the blistering sun, and drove home.

I think all cars are basically made the same and if you keep up your maintenance on it you'll have it for a while. I have had 5 cars/trucks since I started driving when I was 16. No major problems with any of them.

57' Chevy Truck
93 Mustang Cobra 5.0
87 Caddie
99 Ford Ranger
00 Cherokee

About the only Fords I like are the old ones. The ones powered by carburetors: 289, 302, 351W, 390.

Love my '66! Was my daily driver since 1999 until I got my Cherokee last year.

I passed my driving test in the US in a 1990 Taurus wagon. By God was that thing a vile-handling automobile, and it loved running through steering racks and pumps at an alarming rate. Surprisingly, for a 3.8-litre model, it never had engine or transmission problems and is still in the family. Looked good (and kinda still does in a way) for the time, though.

I spent a little time in one of that gen Taurus, way too much time in my opinion. The thing wouldn't accelerate or corner as well as our full size Chevy G-Van did even before that died a couple of years ago. What got me was that if there was any sun glare, I couldn't read the gauges! Then there was the Tempo I had for driver's ed:scared:

Ford suck. it's that simple. I think the thing i hate most about Ford is that they can't build a single performance motor without having to supercharge it. I respect Gm and have no issue with em. I will be a Dodge man till I die though.

fdsa, dont know where you get that from. the 318 is one of the best v8's ever made. i had one in a dakota 4wd and that thing was a tank. couldnt hurt it and good power. i would take a 318 any day.

All opinion.
Im glad you like the 318.
im glad I like the 302. I had one in my 93 Cobra. I literally broke a bolt off on the drivers seat where it mounts to the floor once at launch and it was not supercharged.

Nice 67.

All you assholes with classic Mustangs that actually propel themselves in a forward direction piss me off.

I really, really need to move to a place where I can resume work on that '66 one of these days!

(289 coupe currently with a C4 but orignially had a four speed. I'tll be most likely rockin' a T5 when I'm done.)

Thanks, It goes forward pretty good too. It is still far from done though. needs some body work and paint. The front end is shot but I think I will put in a mustang II front end and then stroke the engine to 347. It sucks having two project cars. They take turns in the garage being torn apart

OK, I'll come clean on this. There is a Ford that I'd own:

you wish.

Damn straight I do. GT-40s are just... So nice.

I'm sure all of us that wish we could have GT-40 would apperciate them a lot more than the "more money tham brains crowd" that generally owns them.
