Sunday would be a good day for those who wish to do a "typical" snow run. Does 9:00AM work for meeting down at the Tinkham exit for a Sunday run?

Matt will be providing more detail over the next few days and we will play this by ear as we know more but if the snow is not going to cooporate then we will either make this a single day trip or cancel it all together (depends on the snow). We should have more detail over the next couple of days and will go from there.
Keep your fingers crossed for good snow, I am looking forward to another great trip!!

Alex and I were up there last weekend. It does not look to good. Tinkham road is looking bad. With only about 4-5 feet of snow MAX in SOME places on the trail. Most of the time you can see the gravel and pavement on the sides of the trail. Its the spring snow, so its hard to get good traction. Lots of wheel spin...
We then headed up the highway to the Denney Creek Exit and went up the Denney Creek road. The road up is bare pavement until the hump at the beginning of the trail. Snow is a lot better here than Tinkham with 2-3 inches of fresh powder above the spring snow. It was hard going though, Alex and I only could get to the bridge about 400 feet past the beginning of the trail. The bridge was full of loose snow and it did not pack to well. I was breaking trail and it took me about 30 mins to just go 20 feet. Then I got stuck, I just sunk right to my frame rails. I know there are more capable rigs out there, but I'm just talking about what we ran into up there. Anyways, Alex had to pull me off the bridge, every time he pulled me out of the ruts I made, I would just sink into the snow. He had to pull me off the bridge completely. The ruts I left were huge because he was dragging me out while my frame rails were on the snow. Alex and I decided to call it a day after he got me out and turned around and headed out.
I would have to say that this exit is better than the Tinkham Exit. There is a LOT more snow up Denney Creek than Tinkham and there is more potential.
Just trying to make your decision of what to do Michael a little easier.

I was thinking about Wednesday or Thursday. Give me a call and let me know what works for you; my schedule this week is pretty much open.Matt_West said:Hey Michael / Matt,
I would be interested in participating on the research trip if you want a third rig. I am on 33" truxus, locked F&R, with 4.5" of lift, and proper recovery points.
Cheers,
Matt
