Hunters/archers

Worked with the DNR at one of the registration stations the past few years. Had one gent trying to tell us the arrow did not kill it and he had to shoot it with a 22 so it did not suffer. Funny thing was there was no sign of bleed out or clotting around the arrow entry area.

The crap people try to tell us around here is funny.

Like a frozen stiff deer that showed up at check in on opening morning at 745AM. I laughed when he told me he just shot it. It was a meat cube. Hell it was only 30 degrees that day but a deer carcass would take hours to become frozen like his was.

There was another person under investigation around here for poaching and shining, the part that pisses me off is I know him to be a trophy hunter and he's rich enough that they do not need the meat but pisses and moans about not seeing any deer or the DNR hassling him every time I see him.

If you need the venison fine but if your not starving be careful. The group up here have no sympathy for poaching, or hunting without the proper gear. They have a pretty good collection of small caliber rifles and pistols that have been confiscated up here thinking they could use them deer hunting.

Amen, throw the book at poachers!!

going to try some video... see how it looks. thinking 1080 with the narrowest field of view. might try 720 so i can get a higher FPS.

its a little bulky. i used as few parts as possible to save weight. no battery pack or LCD. even threw on the skeleton housing for weight, and should give me the best sound quality. i want it as close to the grip as possible, farther out on the stabilizer means more leverage. i shoot with an open palm, but dont let the bow fall away, so having it on top of the stabilizer might be problematic. i think putting it below might give it a poor line of sight (and more leverage, as its farther away from the fulcrum, aka, my hand)

ill have to play with it, see how it turns out, and if i can accurately shoot with it. thinking start at 10yds, move to 20-25, then take it to the stand. most of the places dont have lanes that are much further, and since the gopro doesnt have zoom, father might not look good.

Good deal, post up after you shoot that booner! Lol

I've been thinking about rigging something like that up with the flip cam I won. Maybe I will actually get around to it someday soon..

just got done shooting it today...

doesnt affect my shot, still got a tight group at 25 yards. the impact seems too much for the mount. the camera keeps moving. good for about 3 or 4 shots. but i guess i only need one. tried with a few different frame rates, none could really capture the arrow. maybe if it wasnt mounted on the bow. so i went with 1080. ill have to upload the video during the week, im in BFLake City right now, and the connection is horrible.

He wasn't asking about the legal aspect,
I know I'm late to the game, but I've been out of town.

I know he wasn't asking about the legality. But I'm not about to tell someone to go ahead and hunt deer by shooting it in the head with a .22 because they don't care if it's legal or not. The way I see it, ignorance is not an excuse and I wanted him to be educated that trying to hunt deer with a .22 is not only a bad idea, it's a bad idea.

Walt- I dig the go pro on the bow. That thought has crossed my mind. It can make the every day guy the next big TV hunter because you finally have the exposure. That and you can show off your good stuff to your buds and fam.

Exactly, the new 1/2 ton trucks are getting decent gas mileage these days the "mini" truck market is moving in two directions. One, up to the half ton trucks. Or two, the "fleet-mini" truck market (like your NAPAs and Carquests) are starting to switch to a small cargo van style vehicle which is just as flexible as the "mini"-truck.
