How to make your Jeep louder?

Is there any cheap mod... i.e. DIY mod that makes your jeep louder and sound more aggressive? I don't wanna get a new exhaust system but I definitly want my jeep to sound like it will eat you, and still pass inspection. I heard theres a silencer thingy you can take out but i'm not sure?

if you're in an inspection state you can't do any of the easy stuff. get a flowmaster 40 series muffler.

chop off the rest of the pipe after the muffler... heck take off the muffler.. lol

I absolutley love my Magnaflow muffler sounds great.

Just take the muffler out and run straight pipes. Thats what I did and I passed inspection in Az. Its louder but not loud at all and sounds better. jeff

Are you trying to say your straight pipes aren't loud? Are you using pixi sticks???

If it was leagel in NH i'd run my Jeep with straight pipes. I love the way the 4.0 sounds with no muffler.

Found out after I did the cherry bomb to mine that Forest officials dont consider a muffler with a straight through design to be a spark arrestor and I see there point. I have even been told they will look under there if they meet up with you. I have to change it to something else before going out again. Sounds good but......... not too good if you can only drive it to work because of that.

Maybe it's just my speakers :dunno: but the modified exhaust sounds like my arshole after a night of buffalo wings and beer. assgas:

I personally like the sound of my Dynomax muffler, but I bought it for the tone, not the volume. It can get pretty loud (compared to stock) in the midrange area, but I like the way it purrs. It's got a deeper sound than most of the full size pick-ups here on my campus. At certain RPM's on the highway, it gets loud and low enough that I can't tell the difference between the exhaust noise and my subs...

My you are observant! Yes a super trap can be tuned to suit any application. from bikes to big V8's this one is 2.5 x 12" and 12 tune plates to draw a lil extra torgue outa the motor

If you are looking for loud then hollow out your cat and buy a cherry bomb. If you are looking for something that sounds good then you will have to spend more money. I don't think it is possible to make a 4.0 sound good, at least in comparison to a built big block or a built LS1 but I guess that is obvious.
