5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as idiots
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
1 to get mad and make a personal attack.
1 to tell the attacker that he has a PM.
3 to attack the one that attacked.
6 to support the one who got attacked and tell him how cool he handled it.
6 peacekeepers to tell both parties to settle down and get over it.
2 posts of apology from everyone who attacked anyone.
6 congratulations to those who apologized.
1 new pot stirrer to start some different crap about the light bulb or perhaps something totally unrelated cause he is still mad at somebody from three months ago.
3 to suggest the new pot stirrer be banned.
1 personal attack on the PS(pot stirrer).
Then the PS attack backs and the PM messages and it all starts all over again with no regard whatsoever for the light bulb which is still being pointed out by dozens does not really belong here anyway

... and 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 12 months from now and start it all over again

While not quite 12 months, I say good enough.

Light bulbs made in China suck!

XJ Dreamin, I fully disagree with you. Have you ever used any lightbulbs from China? People seriously underestimate these chinese light bulbs because they think that since they hear other people say they are crap, so they must be. They don't actually use them theirselves. I have never had any problems with Chinese lightbulbs.
But then again, I do use GE lightbulbs...

I go to Home Depot and I buy a box of 60w light bulbs. I screw one into a lamp. Waaay too soon the bulb is out. I go to unscrew the bulb and the epoxy that is supposed to hold the glass in the base has failed. You start to unscrew and twist the leads together and the damn thing arcs and scares the crap out of me. I look at the box and it says "Made in China".

That's what I know. I'm converting everything to compact flourecent. they're still made in China, but they seem to be of nominal quality. In my experience, incandecent bulbs made in China suck.

JMHO YMMV :peace:
