How do you install a lift kit???

If your heart is set on a 6.5" lift, just do it. It will clearly just be to say that you have 6.5" of lift when it is brought up in conversations. It's overkill, not needed, a waste of efforts, just for show, not safe, etc...

well the thing is is that my family is into all of this stuff my dad's been wheelin since he was my age and he wants a 6.5" lift. It's not like i'm going to be just driving it he is to.

So, why are you set on 6.5" of lift?

All of these people with lots of experience with cherokees are trying to tell you something and your not listening. 6.5" is not necessary for 33s. You say your going to wheel it but don't want to trim the fenders? Why? If done properly trimmed fenders can look damn near stock.

If your family has been into this stuff, why did you guys buy a lift with 3" blocks and a 3.5" shackle?

Because i didn't ask them when i got it.Why should i? and i want to go 6.5" lift because i already bought the stuff and i want a 6.5" lift what's the big deal about that

Very impressed with how helpful the forum has been. I would recommend buying some red letters for your login and attending Northwest fest. You will meet a lot of great people and get a chance to see a lot of different builds that work well.

yeah i may be there but still not sure yet

I'm just sayin man thats all. i just want a 6.5" cuz i have the stuff that i already bought

I'm not sure if I totally over looked this or not, but just so you know... 3" lift blocks will likely break if you wheel them or end up destroying your leafs, it's not a matter of if but when.

As was said, to do 6.5" of lift you need a LOT more stuff, and it will likely cost you ~$1000 to do it, cheaply.

To give you an idea, I have a 5" lift (5.5" lift with no gear) and have at least $2000 into my suspension. And that was after buying a near new Rubicon Express 4.5" lift for $450 and selling parts of it that I didn't need over time. And after using this lift for awhile, I now need steering (just ordered) which ran me $400, and wasn't factored into the suspension cost. And fyi, I just turned 19, I started wheeling when I turned 17, and I started with a 3" lift and 31" tires...I don't regret that at all.

There's also additional cost to wheeling, tires, axles (stock doesn't cut it after awhile), armor (protecting the vehicle from being damaged and leaving you stranded), spare parts, tools, fixing things as they break (this will happen, and it can cost more than you'd like to think). Just be prepared, wheeling isn't cheap.

Yeah i know it isn't but yeah i'm not going go use the blocks in the back and either the shackles. i'm going to get a rusty's 3" add a leaf pack for $60 and then have my dad make 1.5" STEEL BLOCKS and then get 1.5" shackles. all that for the back.
and i'm going to probubly just sell the aluminum blocks i got from that guy and get some kinda money off of them and theni think i'm just going to get a long arm kit for it from redrider2911 when me and my dad get the money. almost there.
