Hollister Wheel'n!

Hey guys, my birthday is coming up next month so I was thinking of getting some rigs together and hit up Hollister on Saturday, January 7th??? I was thinking leave in the AM, 8 or 9, hit up a half day or so of trails and then who ever wants to join we can get some Famous Daves or Dickeys for some grub after the carnage. Non XJ's are more then welcome to cruise with us.

FYI, Hollister has a whole new area open with new camp grounds, day use area and new trails, ONLY black diamonds!!! Apparently its open for use, Ive checked out the map and I wanna see it! I'm gonna call the rangers before I get my hopes up...:explosion

I wont know if I can make it until it gets closer. But id sure love to go wheelin.

Is the new area they opened on the other side of the paved road from the upper ranch? I remember seeing it on a map, but never knew if it would open.

Yeah, I believe that whole area is open on the other side of the road, should be pretty sweet. I'm going to call tomorrow before I start rumors and get everyone pumped up but I heard from another guy it was open...

I might be in if there are trails I can do with my 235's

Lame, if you look on the map its all black diamonds but if you look at the pictures with all the fencing it reminds me of Autopia at Disney Land, doesn't look like there is anything fun between the fences. Anyway, I'm thinking obstacle courses, white rock hill climb and a few other trails are fun enough at the old side.

And yes! You can mess around on plenty of stuff with your 235's, if not I'm sure someone would let you cruise in a rig for while. Do you have tow points at least? I bet the smaller, newer obstacle course would be fun in a stocker.

Good to know thank you, I would love to fool around on a obstacle course. I have never been to Hollister but I would love to go with some people who know their away around. :wave1:
This is what I look like right now

I also have to tow-hitch with a D Ring so you can yank my butt:moon: out when I jump in onver my head. :rof:

Yeah man, your totally set. You locked or anything? Your Jeep will do just fine, you can pretty much do 85-90 percent of the stuff there, just be careful, choose a good line and maybe have a spotter when you need one. There are a few trails or things in the obstacle courses where you could technically do them but Id stay away from them. I hate uselessly smashing up the body on my Jeep, but if it happens, it is what it is.

What these guys said. but McCray rd (I think) goes all the way to the top. I made it last years toy run. Obstacle course is easy enough. Bump Stops are key to lack of body damage.

i should be able to go in my zj. just have a few small things to fix/make some tow points first..

was there sunday, nice turn out.

Coffee sucks, but I am most-likely in for this trip (depends because my daughter's 5th bday is the next day and we got stuff to do). Who else is going?
