I'm out this weekend, some other weekend tho.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

I've gotten a few PMs from newbs/stockers not sure if they should come out. The answer is: yes, you should come out. We'll have fun. At this point you might be thinking "he surely can't mean that I should come out". Yes, you should come out too.

Man, I'd love to make this tomorrow but won't be able to. Took apart my front end because I had a leaky axle seal and haven't been able to get time to put it back together. Between work, my kid's birthday, and a first communion tomorrow there's just not enough time! I'd love to run down and meet you guys...let me know when the next run is and I'll head down.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

We left Hollister around 4pm. Fun day. More to come once I get the kids fed.

Edit - We had 7 rigs out there today: Tim, my brother Nate and his wife, Kevin, Brian, SharkMark and his lady, me with my wife and kids, and we saw Loren and his daughter for a bit. Great weather though it was really dusty. I got too much sun again, not sure why I don't use sunscreen. On with the report.

We did the standard stuff: played at the old obstacle course, went to the new obstacle course, went up the middle portion of the Jungle, went to the top of the mountain for lunch, went to the rock quarry, hit the obstacle courses again, and went home.

We watched a ZJ on 33's having trouble with the little gulch at the bottom of Truck Hill - he missed the line and tipped onto his driver side in the gulch. When he started it back up it was pouring smoke; we eventually got it back on the tires and off that trail by backing him up to the start. Pretty good show with lots of smoke but no real damage to his vehicle. I felt a little bad for the guy because there were 30 people watching him fail; but he handled it well.

The were a good amount of rigs out there today (including the 4wd VW Vanagon crowd), but overall we all stayed out of each others way and had a great time. Nobody broke which was nice.

Pics coming later.

I camped there last night with a few friends, but due to underage drinkers at the camp Next to mine(my friends knew them)I had to be out at 9am. Kinda ruined my day. I had both my rigs there and ready to break some stuff. I did get to see the new obstacle course they are building on mrcray road. Pretty intense, must be building it for ttc. Anyways, I'll be there next time.

Dude, same situation got me arrested out there a couple years ago. I had nothing to do with that group except for they said I gave them booze. Eventually I got off the hook, but still, stay away from that shit. From my Inside reports, the new course is for the more hardcore crowd. The guys building it bring one of their buggys in to test out stuff they're building, if it's too easy they make it harder.

So the new course will be open to all?

We need pics!
