Anyone interested in going to Hollister on Sunday May 6th? That's the weekend of VW's "Syncro de Mayo" (4wd Vanagon's) but they usually stay to the tamer trails and we didn't see much of them last year.

Disclosure: I'll probably be taking my wife and kids - they want to see me get stuck and then watch Tim pull us out.

Skill level: from complete newbie to experienced. Same deal as always: play at the obstacle courses, run some trails, eat lunch at the top of the White Rock, probably hit the quarry, etc. There is no pressure - run the trails you want, skip the parts you don't. The goal is to get the entire group to the next challenge, even if we split up and some take easy route while some take the harder route.

We had something like 12 rigs at Hollister in March and had a great time; everyone got off the trails and made it home in one piece (two pieces if you count Tim's busted front axle ). Anyone interested in a May run?

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

I'll be attending SoCalFest this weekend. If I do not break anything and can afford it, I may be there. I got some brand new MTR-K's in 31x10.50 to play with.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

If my darn Buddy wasnt tying the knot, i would be there. But we are going to Cabo that weekend for the bachelor party.

Always remember its just Hollister and its your backyard so how can you break. Hahahhahahhahahah not. Since it is Hollister there parts being broken i have a strong felling.

Still going down, a week from tomorrow. Same deal as always:

- Tim and I meet up at the Holiday Inn/Summit Steakhouse located at Hwy101 and Bernal (399 Silicon Valley Blvd, San Jose) around 9:15am. Leave that parking lot around 9:30 and get to the Hollister obstacle course around 10:45. Wheel until we get tired and head home; usually back in San Jose by 5pm.

- Anyone welcome

Mark, it would be awesome to see you out there.

Successful trip to Calico for SoCalFest, did not break anything. Will not know til later in the week if I will make it. These MTR-k's are awesome.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

I'm going to be in SF on sat for the Giants game, so I might be able to make it to HH. I'll most likley be in my stocker, so will anyone have a spare seat?
Barney should make it up the easy way.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

The new area does sucks. Not even worth looking at. I'll try to be there with both my rigs and my dad might come along is his xj.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

I just wanna check it out. Check out the camp spots and so on.

Yes - I will meet up with you guys at 12:00 at the Holiday Inn in Milpitas - haha kidding

I'll see you guys at 9:30 :-)

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

I think you may need to fill out a group waiver type thing to go over there. I don't believe you simply drive on in.

Re: Hollister Hills, Sunday May 6th

On the map, they show the new area as mostly black diamond trails. What about the area sucks?
