So what happens if no one from the current BOD goes on this trip? Do we keep it scheduled but call it unofficial?

The Moab bug has been chewing on me hard since I started school last fall and with some of the members going down the week before Hole in the Rock, I'm having a hard time saying no. I can't afford to do both and the wife and sister who were planning on any southern Utah trip in April would much rather head to Moab.

Was it ever posted as the official run? I know it was talked about but so far there hasn't been a thread started showing it as the official run. Maybe just leave it like it is? I dunno.

We posted it in the schedule for the year. I stickied Alex's thread, but haven't started an official one.

I would really like to go to this, Im just dont think that my child would do well that long in a car seat. She is at the major wiggly point and trying to figure out how to crawl. All she wants to do is be on the floor. Also I have a plane trip to Toronto coming up that I am wondering how well it will go.

The issue may have resolved itself. Alex PM'ed me and requested that I delete the organization thread and edit the schedule thread. Something about organizations needing a permit that takes 6 months to get so it needs to be an unofficial, bunch of friends getting together, run. Moab, here I come!

Alex is being anal.

The permit rule book states that you only need permits if several conditions exist.

A. the run has to be put on by an organized run...to generate money.
B. there has to be more then ten vehicles in the group.
C. I can't remember...

The point is, there is absoulutly nothing wrong with organizing the run on a forum like this as long as it is not an "official" chapter run...which I think you already decided it is not.

You can PM this to him if you like, he has nothing to worry about.

Hell we got along doing the same thing in Moab for five years now under the same rules.
