Hey guys just coming on here to say whats up im in the Air Force and just got stationed here in wichita ks , i have a 93 xj (pretty much the sweetest ride ever!!!) hahaha all kidding aside i really do love it and would like to find some knowledgable people to work on the jeeps with so hit me up if your near by...:eeks1:

nothin really, but its got a shit ton of miles and i really dont trust it..i've had it for about 2 years and recently i just had to rebuild the tranny..so im just waiting for the motor to go...which is why im looking for a new motor..or to rebuild it..know anywhere i can get a motor and have it installed...

Im up in Salina. How maney miles does it have? What kind of mods or is it all stock?

Like blake said theres a group of all differant size XJ's heading to tuttle saterday. If you want to go and follow us out there let me know. We can meat up in salina and head out.

i will be leaving Salina around 745am. 215,000 miles is not that bad. my old xj had 209000, when i sold it and its still running around town. my current one has 159000

213, yeah very normal. There many on this forum with over 300k But as far as tuttle, there will be plenty of empty seats if you just want to ride also.

Man, at 219K your just getting her lubed up. Hell, my 93XJ trail rig has 290K on it and runs like a top. Knock on wood it is the stock motor and tranny too! Blake (KSXJ) can vouch for me, she aint pretty but she can get the job done! If it wern't opening deer season here in MO, I would probably have met you guys over there again. But.......I have to do my part to help control the crop killers!!

I can definatly vouch that tyler does not take it easy on his rig. he beat the snot out of it and went through anything he pointed it at. Heck he drove it all the way to KC one day just for a meet and greet and drove it back. With 33's I think???

Hey guys, Im new to the site here, glad to finally find a kickass site with people in Kansas and so close to me....not that Kansas is anything to brag about. Im in Hutch and have a 96 xj sport all stock, and hoping to find people who can tell me and offer info on how to do a bit of modding to it. I see you guys with over 150k miles...damn! thats alot, but not for a Jeep. You might be shocked to read that mine only has....68000 original miles on the 4.0 iL6. factory tow pack. I dont plan to get to extreme...yet..but would like to get info on a lift kit, tires and all that. I have had the Jeep since 2000 and decided that I would like to mod it a bit for some mild fun. Lift it 2-3 inches, maybe up to a 31" tire, but Im a total newb to 4x4 and know nothing about coils, shocks, rockers, axel, bushings and all that stuff. I have no clue where to start. My project will go piece by piece, when I can afford to get parts, then I will have to find a shop in the Wichita area I can trust to help do the lift and all. What do you guys think the very first thing to buy would be?
sorry so long winded, but glad to see fellow ks people, and love the site here!

First of all, unless you are doing gears, I wouldn't spend my money on having a shop do anything. These things are simple enough, almost anyone can work on them. If you aren't sure what to do, there are enough people around that are more than willing to help out. As far as what comes first? I would say some lift and tires. Don't be too picky, or over analyze things. Throw something on, get on the trail and try it out. You will see other rigs and get ideas as you go.
