HELP! Tie rod end dilemma

I get it now. I suppose you could order one from Rusty's or simply replace the linkage with something more easily sourced.

Well i want to keep the upgraded tie rod... its pretty beefy.

you can but you need (1) a tapered insert for each end, (2) remove or replace the swaybar mount on the axle to get them out of the way, and (3) 16" or larger rims to clear the joint

This insert... how does it work and what does it do? if the hole on the knuckle goes right through whats the needs for the insert? the only way i could see this being necessary is if the hole is tapered... and the inset reverses the taper... but that would involve drilling out the hole, correct?

TREs are tapered so the holes are also tapered to match. If you want to flip the TRE, you need to taper the hole as well

search for "goferit flip" as the most common of many
