help lookin for a car

hey guys ive been looking for a cheap car/truck/suv anything for my dad for about a month and havent found anything but now its gettin down to the wire so i figured i would post up see if anyone has or knows anyone thats selling a good car his budget is $1000 and it needs to smog and have a heater,be somewhat economical and be dependable since he has lung cancer he has to make it to chemo therapy every other week ive looked all over craigslist but chico doesnt get too much action and sac is 2 hrs away so i havent made a trip to check out cars there yet my dad lives in american canyon/vallejo area any help is much appreciated fellas i keep tellin him he needs an xj that way i have lots of spare parts but everyone up here seems to think a stock 88 xj with 200k is worth 2k

There is a tow yard near my house, I will take a look next drive by and see what they have.

thanks any ideas are good ones at this point ive got a few leads up here but everything for that cheap is a total hunk of junk of course
