H.O. Engine & Renix electronics

Early this summer I installed a 1995 4.0 in my 1987 Jeep. The engine is the 1995 but the intake I used was from the 1987 motor, I know the ports hardly line up but it had to be done quick. Anyways now I have time to install the H.O. intake, so I guess I need to ditch the EGR valve, is that going to effect anything? Also can I use the fuel rail off the renix system or do I have to use the 1995 fuel rail? Also how do I adapt the TPS? Am I missing anything else?

The fuel rail from the Renix has different bolt pattern than the HO. I am going to use a fuel rail from a HO motor. I am doing a simular swap. You will then have to adapt the fuel lines underneathe though. I haven't gotten that far. The 91-95 fuel rail has both inlet and outlet at the front. The Renix has the inlet at the fron and the outlet at the rear. If you retained your Renix wiring and ECM, then I hope you kept the same Flywheel or flexplate.

Yeah I have been driving it for months and it has the renix flywheel. Well if the injecters line up right and the bolts that hold it down are all thats different then I will just adapt it with different mounting brackets. Then all thats left if the throttle cable and tps.

I think if you follow that article, it will tell you about wiring the TPS. You might look at Dino's page for an adjustable MAP sensor if you have fuel problems. You could cut out the whole boss assembly for the EGR from the Renix manifold and have it welded into you HO manifold. I'd do this if you have emmission check out there. From most reports, there's no function problem with blocking off the EGR.

When swappiung manifolds I broke the EGR tube, my manifold came with plugs in both holes, I plugged it off at the manifold and pulled the VAC lines to the EGR. No problems or adverse effects.
