GUNS & AMMO

You talking Ruger LCP? I carry mine every day, I can hardly tell it's in my pocket.

I also picked up magazine tip extenders for it that helps it fit a little better in your hand.

Hides under a carhartt with no issues.

Got a new IWB holster for the g26 and ran into a certain mexican slackin on his work duties.

nice to see you and the sister again Mikey :)

finally gave in and picked up a smaller pistol to carry that was neither an LCP or P-3AT

fit and finish is nice
we'll see how accurate it is tomorrow hopefully

indeed it is

after having spent the last 8 years around Kel-tec pocket pistols i have to say that this thing is leaps and bounds past those for not much more money.
it just feels well built and not toyish

I was looking at those, but my wife found an awesome score on a Sig P238 so we went that way. So nice to shoot. I have a old AMT Backup that I don't enjoy shooting. Just seems to bite.

Nice thing about everyone I know with a body guard is after about 200 rounds it won't cycle a full magazine without jamming.

Ya man always a good time. Just wish they had that damn carhartt I wanted in my size. Oh well. Keep looking I guess. Least I got a better holster.

I went looking for AR lower receivers today. I found some Bushmasters and Anderson. Any preferences? It looks to me like it's a toss up as far as cost between buying local, and doing the internet, FFL thing.

You could buy an entire ar on a military base like fe warren if you were a wy resident. 30 round magazines and no tax makes a cheap rifle.

Well, I do own property in WY. Does that count. I really do want to put one together, and it's easier to come up with the money one part at a time.

... one part at a time.

Woohoo! Finally a Johnny Cash reference.

Fred, have you heard of the company(ies) that will sell you an unfinished ar lower? The lower still needs to have 3 holes drilled so the include a template that you take to a machine shop. The machine shop will load the lower into their machine and let you press start so you actually complete the lower. This way you end up with a legal lower (that you build) with no serial number.

I don't know if this all is true, I have just heard about it. If anyone has more info, please share!

And yes, my Google is broken.

They are typically referred to as "80% lowers". So long as you finish the machining yourself (even if that finish is pushing the start button), they are legal. Quality varies significantly though. They will even do build parties where a shop will setup their CNC for the day to just run the 80% lowers. However the ATF doesn't take kindly to them because they typically will have the same company doing the machining that sells the 80% lowers and it gets just a little too easy.

EDIT: Technically according to the law, any gun that you build yourself is legal for possession but not sale. The 80% complete state is where companies have found the ATF to not give them significant hassle on so they stay there. And yes, any lower that was built from an 80% state cannot legally be sold or given to anyone else, ever.
