GUNS & AMMO

Can't buy Cuban cigars inside the US????? Lol. You may not want to know HOW they got here...... but you can certainly get 'em.

I might have brought a pair back from Canada recently. I would've totally forgot they were in my pocket (ACU's have a ton of pockets after all) when I flew back. My father in law and I enjoyed them...... allegedly :eyes:

Out trying the new g26. Pretty happy with it. Trigger doesn't feel junky like dad's 19. Need mag extension for pinky cuz my left hand can't find a comfortable spot. Hence the goofy grip

Also snagged me one of these CF neck knives. Super light weight. Easy to conceal. And stupid sharp for being CF. Has a nice kydex sheath and everything.

0-300. How light/heavy do you want it to be? How accurate at those ranges?

1-4x 30mm scopes are ideal for these ranges if you need to be accurate, or fast. But they weigh a pound or more.

Aimpoint are great for simplicity and durability. A 1x red dot with a 4 year battery life. Primary arms makes some very decent knock offs for very reasonable prices.

Holographic sights like Eotech are not my favorite by far, but supposedly have super quick target acquisition and some people love them.

Reflex sights like the Burris fastfire are super light, not quite as durable as the others but work well.

A good 3-9x is great for varmint and target work inside 300.

My first optic on an AR was a fixed 6x on a carry handle. Terribly difficult to use, cheek weld way too low, scope distance over bore made bullet rise/drop a lot more dramatic.

If you can use irons, nothing wrong with them. I keep a couple optic free because I'm not made of money.

Speaking of optics..............

As if my FAL wasn't heavy enough, I added some more weight in the form of an Elcan Specter M145, 3.4x28, w/killflash and laser protection filter. :guitar:
I really need to get a bi-pod now.

Score! I looked at something similar, but at the $120 price level, I was willing to make do with what I had.

GUNS & AMMO

Used some pipe insulation foam to make a cheek rest for my rifle. Now my eye lines up with scope very easily. I was having a lot of issues with that. This rifle is my first scoped weapon and I just don't have a lot of practice with it. Wish I'd done this before the hunting trip.

For training in regards to accuracy and speed, do you think gopro footage from the firearm back at shooter or down barrel at target would be better?
