Here's a question, with all the Nazi laws passed last year, is a SKS even legal to own these days i heard something on the news because of the 20rd in removable mag that it was thought they would just be altogether illegal? I was following it all but that kinda got lost in the crowd of all the other stuff! I know a guy wanting to possibly sell one but don't know if it's even legal to own!
The SKS as it is configured from the factory is legal, as it has a 10rd magazine.
If it is being sold with an aftermarket magazine the seller will have to keep the mag and you'll have to source an original one. The original 10 rd mags are superior anyway, changing a duckbill magazine is a 3 handed operation.
Bottom line...... A semi-auto SKS is legal to own. State law requires that the transaction take place at a gun shop or with an individual holding an FFL. $10 transfer fee. Hi cap mags may not trade hands.
The silly part about laws like this is that unless the buyer or seller snitch on the other..... The law is not enforceable and no one would know about the transaction.
So.... Don't buy from an undercover ATF agent or cop......
So I found a place to do the hydro paint on the slide of the cz like I want. The price is pretty decent and their work looks great. That said I'm also looking to get the cz back in the safe vs carrying so much since they seem to be harder and harder to find.
So after doing some fondling, I decided against the m&p as well as the Xd. My hands just felt funky holding on to both in a variety of calibers.
So I got talked into trying out a G30. Ya. A glock. The one brand I figured I'd never like. But hot damn. It felt really good in my hands. Very easy to conceal and way way lighter and smaller than the cz. So on the hunt for one if anyone sees one. Or I'll just pick up the one at sportsmans since they have the best price so far.
I keep thinking I'd like to try hydro-dipping myself, but most places that do it professionally offer "previous dip removal" services...Makes me think there's a lot of people doing it wrong.
Ya when you buy a machine they offer classes. The classes are sold out for months in advance as I have a buddy looking to get one of the machines. Very cool stuff. Stoked to get the cz done with it.
Indeed, and mine was used, but it was also mostly pre-drama... (early 2009). Sadly, as happens so often, it was lost in the jetsam of the flash flooding in the forest last year, and I am now left to defend myself with my fists, as the state intends. :eyes:
And knives, don't forget the deadly knives. But that would be silly, to try to regulate knives....or fists, for that matter, because knives and fists don't hurt people, it's the people using them.
