well boyz here it is i gotta vent. my brother took his early 90's mitsubishi eclipse to two different people(companies) and had some major mods done.(motor bored, pistons, rods, etc. air intake, innerooler. etc) this thing would haul ass. if it would run right. the original guys who did the work (slowboy racing) screwed everything up. now he took it to a specialist and had the guy(kid) break down and rebuild the motor and fix all the problems left by the original guys. he is now like 13,000 dollars into this motor..we go to pick up his "fixed" car last night and he didn't make it home with out overheating three times at highway speeds. now this guy after being told about the problems is tryin to cash the check real quick.even made the trip to a branch of my brothers bank to cash it. i didn't like him in the first place. to damn swift. might have to go handle this one my way.

That sucks. I would make sure it isn't jsut a little air in the coolant system, but the dude should take care of it. It is so damn hard to find anyone who is worth hiring for stuff like this. A good beating is in order.

Yeah... Just don't go attaching your name and company to your plans posted on the Internet.

oh, hey no worries man,
i find a little intimidation always works best. no need to go getting violent most people roll over the minute you get a little crazy eyed on them anyway. thats also why i bounce a bar in my free time (helps get the aggression out). i think my brother got smart. he put a stop payment on the check and is tryin to collect some of the money back so we can buy a new radiator and thermostat and cap and do it ourselves. a beating is in order though.

Are you serious....he put $13000 into a motor?

It seems to me that he'd have had the sense to stop thousands of dollars ago, unless this car is a dedicated track car.

If my brother spent that kind of cash on engine upgrades, I'd beat him, not the guys who did the work, then take him for a ride to the hospital in my $2000 XJ.

Just my 2 cents!

people spend that kind of money modding their jeep, its no different when someone else does it to their car. sure i dont quite see a point in slamming a car or modding it to make it not go over large speedbumps. but that is their passion, let em have fun with it.

I think the point being made was that it was $13,000 into just the engine alone, which for what was done should have been less, and it should have been done right. Setting up a car can definitely add up just as fast as setting up a Jeep, that's why I don't think I'd ever be able to afford a DD car along with my XJ.... :laugh3:
