sure they did. Most all the Automatics from about 87 up had 3.54 / 3.55 in them. at least with a 4.0.
3.55 / 3.54 wont matter....they are compatable...

Your understanding of axle ratios is slightly flawed. Effectively, 3.54 and 3.55 are the same thing.waggy said:
The ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pion gear, and rounding to two decimal places. Because (for example) a Dana 35 has a smaller ring gear than a Dana 44, the number of teeth to achieve the "same" ratio is different. As long as the ratios are not more than 1 percent different, in operation there is no problem. This is why you'll usually see the 5-speed 4.0Ls referred to as having 3.07 gears, but sometimes 3.08. It depends on which end of the vehicle you're talking about.
