so i won a Four Real Steel bumper in a raffle, but im not impressed at all with the mouting of the bumper to the unibody and winch to bumper, for the bumper to unibody i figure to make a plate to go behind it to icorparate the other stearing box bolts and the hole in the rear that most tow hook brackets use, maybee even weld the plate to the bumper plate, then just to add even more over kill add another 1/4" plate on top of both to connect the 2, i also plan to add a 4th steaaring box bolt since a got aa grand waggy box that has 4 stearin box bolt bosses, so i think that 8 bolts on drivers side and 7 on pass side shold be plenty eh? and the winch mount i plan on gusseting someway to, may bee dd a nice chunk of 1/4" plate imbetween there mounts, aanyways heres pics of there mounts

i've seen this bumper used as is... take several big hits and drop onto rocks, and winch plenty of people... and it's done quite well. haven't noticed any problems with it...

Dan,

Is that the same one Tim runs on his rig?

If possible go into the front cross member with a couple of bolts. Also tie into the sway bar bolts on each side.
was thinking of that, had c4x4 tow hooks on before so ill copy there brakets that attch to the crossmember

I have the same bumper and have had no issues with it. And lets just say I am not the best driver. Here is what I did to reinforce it.

Buy a C-Rok kit and cut part of it off then weld it to the bumper. Then you have the sleeve from the bumper plus the sleeves from the kit. Just my .02...

For a little cheaper and just as good as that. Ukrainetrain or something like that sells DIY bumper kits and I think he will sell you the mounts for under $40 for both sides then just do like the guy above did with the c-rok setup

thank you, but i dont even know you! :smootch: :nono: :gag:

but i do like the way you think, 1/4 plate with 15 bolts total should over do it nicely.
