Frame Plating

I understand that to make a rig hardcore it's best to plate the frame. I'm curious what hte best method is though. How do you get the frame off? Will any shop do it for you? What's best, nickel plating or chrome plating? I know chrome is really hard but I really like the look of nickel.

I plated mine in unobtanium. It was super expensive but totally worth it. If I land on a rock, it crumbles into gold dust now.
 
cedar strips & or birch bark

if it works for canoes, it's gotta work for frames.
 
Go with rust.

It's harder to come by here on the west coast, but it's free, looks really cool, and helps shave weight.
 
An evenly thick layer of bondo or JBweld would do the trick for frame plating
 
just cut out the entire floor and frame rails and insert glass or plexi glass so you can have more visibility on the trails
