Don't know who owns it and don't wanna take a chance of catching a trespass charge. It's not posted but it is gated.Gate is always open and people have been back there wheelin judging by the fresh tracks.I asked a local towing company that sits next to it and they said they dont know who owns it.
How do I find out who owns it?Nobody local knows...I went back in there a few weeks ago but I was paranoid the whole time.Would like to relax and be able to wheel it without looking over my shoulder the whole time.
Who should I contact?I don't know what local channel to go through.

Sorry if this has been covered here before.....

revenue office will know who pays the taxes on the property its all a matter of public record.

One more thing.....there's no address so how do I find out the approximate location to search public records?

I only know about my county here is AL..I know the office people so we just search...you can try to find addresses close to it and go from there.

If you have GPS it can give you coordinates. Or you try searching the records for the towing company you spoke of that sits next to the land.

Your County will have a record of the property.
Give them the address, and they will give you the owners name.
You may not have an address. Knowing the pacel is adjacent to another property you know the owner of will halp.

OR Look up your county on the web.
Find the area on their site which has GIS information.
Look it up yourself via the GIS software. You will need to play a bit there. The parcel number is on the GIS map, then you need to go to the parcel lookup to find out who owns it.

Or get a topo map and find out the PLS coordinates and go to your county tax assesor

Kudos to you for wanting to do it right.

yea I love this sport and its people that trespass that give us more responsible wheelers a bad name.Trust me this town is full of beer can spewing, tree cutting, trespassing, ragged out pickup truck driving rednecks who dont care if wheeling spots get closed due to their negligence. They're like a plague that spreads across the land......
You should be required to take an IQ test in order to even own a 4x4!!!
