You made this statement, PLUS that for the past 2yrs, Yukon has stepped up its quality & warrantee. Well then i believe this speaks for itself as well:

Glad i have ARB's!!!
Now you want to bring up not apples to apples, so close to that.
You might want a Zip OVER your arb, since I think you are talking D30 arb, right?
That test was done after ARB brought out thier new design air locker, due to so many ford 9" and D60 big boy differential issues.
The Yukon Zip is actually based on the ARB old style with some changes.
So, since ARB will NOT release what models they compared, you can only refer to the video and make your own conclusions...
looks as though the zip broke Internally at 6271lbs/ft +/-200. there are only a few off the shelf shafts that can withstand over that amount of torque the arb axle broke at.... The 35 spline stuff for one and in Yukon hardcore or warn. Or some custom 300M shafts.
SO does that mean they used a custom shaft that was tested so that it would fail before the inside of the ARB and yet after the ZIP? I am guessing yes.
ARB says in the video that after the Zip locker blew up, that it would have caused so much damage that you would need a new ring and pinion, new axles seals, new pinion seal, new carrier bearings, new pinion bearings, etc... BS! When they go on to over exagerate to that extent I dis credit the whole video...
I LOVE ARB's! I think there is not another locker that is as strong or better built. But just like building a cage out of Titanium or 4130, or DOM... Each has its strengths. And if you call me with a 40"+ tire I am selling you a ARB. If you call with a Jeep D30 or D44 on 33's or even 35's & your safe on a ZIP Locker and save about 200-300$ (25-30%), when why not?
Just like your lil D30, your axles cant handle over 4000lbs/ft of torque, so who cares if the ARB or ZIP breaks at 4500 or 5500 or 10,000lbs/ft of torque??
