Filarski's XJ Pre-runner build

Man, I love this jeep. The front end is so sweet

NO CRAP HUH?

I dont see ANY steering there at all!

LOL!

all joking aside, are you guys going to go with a swinger setup or something more like stock for steering?

I'm only asking all these questions because I'm (slowly) following in your footsteps on this build.

thanks :wave1:

Our next step is to move the steering box forward about 3" and at this time we plan to cut the rest of the unibody off, forward of where the engine cage mounts and re-build everything new.

Currently our plan is to run an idler arm and link since they aren't equal length beams.
Things change after every 36 pack of red cans though...

What exactly do you mean by cut and turned the beams.? Why is this done? I just got a ford ranger with 4x4 ttb... Interesting how much stuff i see for this type of suspension. I would like to know more about it.

Fix the camber without having to drop the pivot points of the arms.

SO SEXY

Please offer the crossmember as a kit or sell the files please please. I'm buying a cherokee again after selling my F100 and want a TTB so bad. Great build I just read the entire damn thing. Keep it up

Amazing build - the time, TIME spent here Whew!

$hit!

Hey what will this thing weigh? Clearly tough but looks like a lot of iron added.

Very good question, but I don't have a very good answer yet.
My guess with the original Frod 8" front axle we started with would be around 4300.
Everything we've taken out vs. everything we've added I suspect may even out or stay pretty close.
We'll see though.

If I was a gambling man, I'd say the weight is within 75 lbs plus or minus. There is alot of brackets but other than that, axle for TTB, radius Arms replacing 4 control Arms and a trac bar is going to be close to a wash.

Can't wait to see this thing in action. So awesome.
