Filarski's XJ Pre-runner build

Hang in there. Ryan made some changes to the original plan. We're going a different direction with the front suspension.
We should have some parts to look at early next week.

For Sale: Custom Currie Built 31 spline Ford 8" Jeepspeed front axle...

Up-date:
Still smokin ass hot here...
Upholstry guy showed up with the back seat last night. Materials matched the front PRP's perfectly.

I LOVE that seat!! Great job!

Dont mind the impatient, some of us know (and appreciate) that this is NOT overhaulin!

Take your time, your work is amazing, no need to rush!

We're working on the main crossmember still. I dont have any updated pics on me, but Ryans got the main structure tacked up and some of the double sheer done (not pictured...)

To make sure there is plenty of clearance between the beam mount and the axle shaft joint we turned 3/8" off of each of the misalighnments.

I've got this display job I need to finish by tomorrow for SEMA and then start prepping my truck for Baja so progress is probably going to be a bit slow until after the 1000...

Lookin good man. I'm just behind you on my ttb swap. On your main crossmember are you going attach gussets that run parallel to the frame to tie the crossmember to your frame? Also how are you tackling your radius arms in regard to castor angle? Do you know what castor angle you need to have on ttb?

Thanks. I'll link my build thread when I'm not on the phone.

We dont have any plans for a parallel brace on the cross member. Once finished it will be 9.5" wide and the radius arm is what takes the brunt of the force.
The cross member is mearly a pivot and should be plenty stong.
I beleive we were going to hit 10* for caster.

I'd love to see your project if you've got a link.

Awww powertrax. SO you Are keeping the name/brand alive. Cool!

Thanks for the info. If I gave you 14 gauge templates could you waterjet my main pieces. If so how much?

Right on. Cant wait to hear how it works for you.

Havent touched ours since the beginning of October. We plan to jump back on it after the holidays and hope to have it done for TDS in early March.

Now that Baja's past and the holidays are over, its time to jump back on the XJ.

We spent most of Saturday cleaning up the shop and dont have a lot to show yet, but were able to get some of the double sheer done.

This shows the bracket that picks up the inside of the passenger beam and completes the cross member if you need to un-bolt the removable portion.

Theres still a ton of plate work to be done, but we're holding off until we get the radius arms mocked up and can cycle everything together.
