I had a great time Saturday getting out and riding. It is the first time my XJ has been wheeled since Harlan (July 2012). My daughter came with me so that was cool. We met a lot of new people and got to wheel with old and faces alike.

We had a great time and covered a lot of trails. Some were significantly more difficult than when we attended in Nov. 2010.

We ran the trail 12 loop and 256offroad said there was a rock that was hanging up some guys. Well, I misjudged where he said the rock was and by the time a realized it's location, I was stuck on a muddy hillside. And in the most boneheaded move ever, I had my trusty winch but left the remote at the house! I've got luck, don't I? I persevered and made it through and then everyone else including 2 guys with open-open diffs walked to the top.

Fun day for wheeling with the beautiful weather and scenery. The temperature couldn't have been better and the ground was just right, no too wet but not dusty either.

To all the guys that made Ed-Fest back in October....thanks a million! My Jeep did great and I couldn't be happier. I was worried it would be more tippy with the added height but it did just fine. It does look like bigger tires would fill up those wheel wells a little better though.

Carnage for the day was another dent in my passenger rear corner and a skinned up gold honeycomb wheel on the pass rear axle. One of the pictures that Bosco posted shows the damage about to occur. That happened in the creek bed.

The best part of the ride was getting to see my Jeeping family and enjoy the company of the greatest people in the SEC. Amen.

Great time! I wrestled with ratcheting noises all weekend from the rear end - only up hill and only under load. Finally Doug and I diagnosed it as the grease fitting on my driveshaft contacting my muffler.

The right front gave me some fits. Click, clank, clunk, every rotation. Found the castle nut on the upper ball joint walked itself loose. Tightened it up. Click, clank, clunk. Swapped shafts (thanks Mark) becuase the unit bearing was toast. Click, clank, clunk. Finally the sharp eyes (or dumb luck) of Doug saw that I lost my lower shock bushing. That is the 3rd one I've lost on a wheeling trip. You'd think I'd recognize the noise by now!!

I had a great time hanging out with my girls. It is something special when daughters want to spend time with Daddy camping, building fires, roasting hot dogs, and - this morning - they even wanted to help me mount the tire after fixing the shaft.

Golden Mountain brings the AWESOME. We need more runs there.

I had a great time also. It's always good to see old friends and meet some new ones. I got to ride with new folks on this trip and I now consider them friends. That's what's it's all about.

I didn't break anything and that's always a plus.:D

Nice pics guys! Those of us who couldn't make it can live vicariously through them..

Eventually...but likely not until next week. I am at work all day today and then I fly to Washington DC early tomorrow morning through Saturday night. If I get things done during the work day and don't have to come back in this evening I'll try to get some teaser shots up.

I had a great time on this trip! Awesome weather, great friends, and a lot of cool rigs to enjoy the trails with...
And another great thing, is I didn't break anything!

No promises... But I have some pictures too, mostly red trails because that's what our group ran mostly...
I am going to be very busy this week/weekend, but I'll see what I can do
