Electric Fan Conversion for Renix Lovers

Well, technically not Renix specifically, but rather closed cooling system users. Why just for closed cooling systems? Because I found this nifty fan switch that has two circuits. The first turns on at 92c and breaks at 82c, and the second one turns on at 96c and breaks at 82c. I found it here: http://www.airtexve.com/custom_searches/ds_fans.php?showall=yes part number 1S4414. The part below is Standard's comparable part number TS238. And guess what! It screws right in place of the old sensor on a closed system's radiator..

I opted to use the dirtbound fan shroud because I had bought some 10" fans many years ago anticipating this swap.
I added rivnuts and used machine screws instead of the self drilling sheetmetal screws provided

I also made some brackets because I didn't like how the provided brackets fit. Thanks to a nibbler, shears and a little friend named Roper Whitney Jr. =)

Both the upper and lower transmission (auto trans) lines had to be massaged to clear the fan.

I bought some Weatherpack connectors to use on the fans and replace the one on the sensor.

I decided to make all the fans run at once on low and high instead of shedding fans at full speed. The gold colored resistor provides the low speed.

Two fan relays now take place of the one.

The fit is good!
