Re: El Junky

Nothing personal at all man... It's the Internet...... Thanks for the info but I think my combo is just fine for my taste

Does it taste like chicken? :dunce:

As with everything in life, 4 wheeling is a risk vs. reward type deal. You my friend are a gambler, some guys love gambling. I'm more of a calcuated risk type guy, and I'm not much of a gambler.

Maybe one day I will see you broken down on the trail, I'll stop and give you a beer. :smootch::doh::wave:

Just keep wheeling and having fun.

Re: El Junky

Alan wheels his rig more than anyone I know...and he is definitely not shy about trying new lines or very difficult trails. I guess I kinda started this whole argument the other day with my comment. Personally, I wouldn't wheel my rig they way he does. I am more along the school of thought as Bryan C...I would rather have my rig well prepared so that I don't have to wrench on it in the field. That being said, Alan is probably one of the main reasons I now run 37s on my f&r Dana 44's...despite what the interweb says!

Point in Fact...Alboy flat out pushes his XJ to the limits, has fun, and will offer help and beer (without too much heckling) if any of us were broken on the trail, no matter how built or budget our rigs are!

Also I forgot to mention the trans started leaking again! Only when it got hot.... So ima replace the torque converter and cross my fingers....

El Junky

It was still leaking at con under lots of heat and pressure so ima replace that since its the only thing trans related that hasn't been replaced...

No leaks so far... Gonna take it out tomorrow night for the super moon thing...

Beat on it last night to see if trans will leak... Got a leak but wasnt the trans... Somehow the oil filter got dented and got a pin hole while I was pre running dirt roads:( but I carry a spare filter so changed it and added oil...:) today I helicoiled the knuckles for the caliper so I'm back to four bolts!

Wheeled tonight still no trans leak... I think it's fixed finally! Also wheeled yesterday night and had electrical issues which looks to be caused by the engine to chassis ground ripping apart. I fixed it today and voltage is good. But I think while it was tripping a few things went bad. My hid headlight harness Melted. My fan switch got super hot while it was on and the switch broke on me tonight which caused me to overheat while not at my jeep:(

In need of new better than stock motor mounts! What should I get? I'm between brown dog and more I think it was...

El Junky

I know they aren't more or brown dog but ironman4x4fab are pretty tough. I'm using them. Better design than stock and rebuildable if needed. I don't see having to many problems with them though.
