Re: El Junky

every time this thread gets bumped to the top I say my god, he finally did it. those axles have to be broken this time
but nope. more wheeling pics

me too. Im like, yep he finally blew up both axles...

but nope.

El Junky

Well broke... Lol the trans started making clicking noise then the front of the trans started pissing trans fluid!!! Any ideas?

Re: El Junky

clicking sounds like cracked flexplate.

spewing fluid could be a bad input seal.

El Junky

Gonna pull trans tomorrow and see what's up... It's making a nasty clicking sound right from the flex plate and torque converter.... Leaks worst when I shut it off now...

clicking could be a cracked flex, and spewing could be overfilling fluid, or trans fluid getting to hot and boiling over which happens. Do you have a good cooler? It's gotta be hard on that thing pushing those meats on stock gears.

I also had a filter come loose in the pan once and it created a clicking sound from the filter hitting valve body. That may cause clicking and spewing.

edit: wait you said front of tranny is spewing? crap, yeah time to pull that sumbitch. make sure you use locktite on belhousing when putting it back together, loose tranny bolts are the main cuase of cracked flexplates. and switch out those torx bolts up top for hex heads.

Good luck man

Thanks man... I have the jcr skid off, driveline, crossmember off so far...

We'll it's out... Still not sure what is leaking... The tc doesn't look cracked anywhere... Only thing I can think of is the seal on the front of the trans... Also can't find anywhere that was hitting causing this clicking noise... Ima pull the tc allow way out and look...

Also... Only pulled 3 bolts out of the bell housing... Not good...

And what is up with this stud sticking out? Is it a guide? It has little dowels to fit in right so what's this?

Re: El Junky

yeah pretty sure thats just an alignment dowl. a bolt may have come loose and dropped down in there and was getting knocked around...? You need to pull the converter off of the plate in order to see if its cracked. If you had a couple bellhousing bolts come out then your flex plate is likely cracked and is what cuased the clicking. Which may have also in turn cuased the TC to float on the input shaft killing the TC shaft seal.

Re: El Junky

I think that's where 1 of the 2 torx head bolts go, po probably rounded it off trying to get it out. Looks like he ground the head off and left it. I'd spin it out with vice grips and replace it with a new bolt.

Re: El Junky

Im shocked I wanted to see a big bang. Nice man Im shocked its holding up.
