Early April run?

No, the website is down until I finish my axle swap up... I just don't have the time right now. Sean's rear axle is a total Frankenstien job... I believe he's got a 9" center, with 14 bolt outers, custom 35 spline shafts, and 3/4 ton chevy disk brakes.

Wow you guys are really getting hardcore!!! I like it. :yelclap: I think I might just go with a ford 8.8 or dana 44 in the rear in time & not be to cozy with the gas. I'm very easy on my cherokee. I have a winch, so if I cannot make it up something after a few attempts I winch.

The ford 9"/chevy 14 bolt is pretty interesting. The 14 bolt is so strong, but hangs down really far while the ford 9" has almost unlimited possibilities in aftermarket stuff up to 40 splines if you want. Are you guys really going to be running 38" tires on your xj's or do you just want the added insurance of not having to worry about breaking down? Or both. Just curious.

I hate fixing my junk on the trail, so I built it for strength and to run the 38SXs. Of course, I am just a web-wheeler and never get beyond my keyboard ;)

So your rig is going to look similar to the C-rok rig. I saw a write up in 1 of the 4 wheel mags that said that the rig was built around 38" SX's. How much cutting are you doing to your fenders/how much lift do you need? Are you doing a long arm front and leafs still in the back or coilover all around?

I'm going to be running 37s... aftermarket shafts and ctms are in my future, but until I start breaking those, I'm not going to swap in a 60.

I think you'll be happy with that setup especially with an auto. What gears do you have? Are you going to run 37x12.50 mtr's? Do you have 16.5" rims? with the 1 ton/.75 ton?
Do you think you'll be done with your swap to come out on the 27th? Let me know when you want to go to Prairie City I should be able to go with you.

I have 4.88s, plan on 37x12.50 MTRs and I'm not sure if I'm going to stick w/ the 15" rims or move up so that I can get a little more BS. I'll be done w/ the swap really soon... definatly by the 27th. Where we goin?

My rig is the ugliest 97+ XJ on the planet. C-Rok is too much of a pretty boy to even be seen next to my rig.

as far as fitting 38s. I have trimmed my wheel wells in the rear back to the doors. There is no more cutting available to me. I run about 7" in the front and 8" in the rear (waiting for the springs to settle out, they need to be wheeled to do that, I don't wheel)

Billy,
Malakoff Diggins/Bowman Lake trail. I thought we could meet at the Sam's Club on Greenback. That's where I meet Phil last time we went and we gased up. It has the cheapest gas in town. How about we meet at 8 a.m. by the pumps. I cannot wait to see your xj in action! I got my rear bumper/tire carrier today. It looks real good, hopefully it all lines up when I install it. Later...Troy

I'm in for another snow run. Gears go in Saturday, gonna try to get that brace on on Friday, and Billy I owe you for that wheel!

So you cannot come on the Bowman Lake trail on 3/27?

I'll be going if I can get my drag link figured out so I can get the front 44 in. Thats assuming there's nothing wrong with it once I get it in.

I would be interested in a day run in the snow, but it will likely be with marni's ZJ. She has a LSD in the rear and Pirelli Scorp ATs which are supposed to do well in the snow. I'll make sure I get front tow hooks, we should should be totally up for playing in the snow.

Great, it's good to see this day get off the ground. It looks like we have quite a group. We should see plenty of snow and hopefully be able to make it to Bowman Lake. There are 3 or 4 other trails in the area that come off of this trail that I found in my trail book. A few are rated as moderate so we can play it by ear.

I've played around up at Malakoff quite a few times, but I've never seen, nor heard of, this lake... I'm kinda interested to see how close I got to it.
Billy

It's quite a bit east of Malakoff. You could actually take the trail all the way to Jackson Meadows resevoir and Hwy 89, or from Bowman Lake south to Hwy 20/80 junction. Things are looking good for me, I'm hoping to be done before this weekend.

With the help of OEM Tech, I believe it's the CPS. Died on me Saturday afternoon, now it cranks but won't start. Has fuel at the rail.
